Radar in PVP has to go!

Yes!

56

No. It's fine!

173

Why?

31

I don't care...

21

Hope I'm not the only one that's tired of hide and seek... I'm not doing too well at PVP, but I don't even want to improve if there's only shotguns waiting around the corner or snipers waiting for you to walk into their crosshair...

No radar would make it easier to camp. Just keep at it. You'll get better and figure out which areas to avoid.

  • If there was no radar wouldn't there be more "hide and seek" if someone is "hiding around the corner with a shotgun" you can always see them. Seems like you would complain even more without the radar

  • Well I'm not a huge fan of the radar since I get killed a fair share by map watchers( also I personally believe it defeats people's reaction abilities in 1 on 1 encounters) I will say that once you learn it and if you have a friend or to who will back you it feels better. Started my first 5 games below a .5 ( usually a 1.4 - 1.6 in most games) but am now up to a .78. Not great by my standards but I feel like I am consistently getting better as I learn to use the things Bungie put in here.

Don't want to brag like I'm the best and talk shit, but i would say I'm in-between the above average and " has to be a hacker " skill level. On any shooter. Regardless of camping or run and gun, theres a few tips on performing better. - Know where your enemies will/can be. If you know the maps hotspots you can anticipate your enemies moves and avoid the around the corner shotgun. - Crouch through hotspots. To avoid showing up on the radar. If you feel like a guy with a shotty is right the corner, bait him by sprinting away from him, then crouch and wait for him to come pass. Usually works. - the radar is your friend and enemy. Especially on destiny, its usually your biggest weakness and strength. Keep an eye on it every few seconds. Know the range of enemies so you can anticipate when they pop out. - try to control the range between you and your enemy. And try suit it to your guns performance - last but not least, don't do anything your not going to be good at. Never works.

  • Who the hell snipes at close range in this game? The radar isn't even that bad, if there's a guy with a shotgun around the corner pre-nade or just jump around it.

  • It's quite possible they may take it out in Iron Banner. But that's a quaint speculation.

  • Don't bum rush into the open and toss a grenade in tight engagements for a leg up... People complaining about crucibles are honestly just not good enough, I'm not saying I'm the best but I can accept when I make silly mistakes and rush decisions, I learn and be better.

It's a great anti-camp mechanism. I think it makes the mode more exciting and enjoyable. If you are getting killed by shotguns all the time, then stop trying to run and gun(this isnt COD) and play more carefully. If you are getting shot by snipers all the time, then I don't know, because this has never happened to me. Also, just because you aren't good at PVP doesn't mean the games mechanics are at fault. Just learn to play better. Use the Radar, instead of complaining about it. If your enemy is using the radar to their advantage, then so can you right?

      • Radar in PvP really only does couple things. It promotes camping. It does not allow the skilled to be separated from radar camper scrubs. A monkey could watch a radar screen and pull trigger when someone walks by. Bungie, drop the radar in PvP and you will see the PvP flourish and not feel as cheap.

        •
I'm not doing too well at PVP
So take away features until you're good, right? So next you'll be crying about how only you should have a gun in PVP...

          • simple answer NO!! this is one thing that helped halo do so well was its motion tracker. take away the radar and it becomes another call of duty bs where you less then half the time dont even know where you're getting hit from. the radar helps you keep track of nearby enemies, allowing you to try and improve on getting kills through tactics and headshots, since this is actually a skill based shooter and not a twitch one like call of duty.

          • Really who cares, because I hate players who like to stay in one spot and hide and kill everyone. There is no fun in that, and camping is the worse. If you think your a good player by sitting in a place and killing anyone you see. Your not......good players are the ones in the middle of the crossfire trying to fight. Great players are those who learn how to deal with there surroundings and change the ride of the game. The radar helps us know if someone is camping or trying to just wait for players to kill. Instead it brings them out so you have a fair chance against them.

            • I usually find in most games getting rid of the radar improves the quality. I would appreciate it if they got rid of the radar, but I won't go on a soapbox if they decide not to. Plus, it'd clear some screen clutter.
