Destiny Vendor Factions & Guilds: New Monarchy vs Future War Cult vs Dead Orbit
I'm about to hit level 20. I like the look of the New Monarchy and Dead Orbit gear but they don't have a Legendary Hand Cannon.
FWC has a Legendary Hand Cannon (The Chance). I'm thinking of going with them. But then I also like The Devil You Know Legendary Hand Cannon, carried by a regular vendor in the hanger area. What about you guys?

1 ReplyNew Monarchy gives Red Hand IX an it's the coolest looking legendary hand cannon (IMO) and is on par with Devil. Only downside is it's just a drop (faction rank or legendary engrams) so I've been gritting my teeth about keeping my faction cloak on instead of my beautiful Strength of the Pack cloak just to get it.

Future War Cult a) The cloak looked good with my shader b) needed a suitable Arm piece for hand-cannons it was the only one that had something appropriate. (faster reload) Any tips on where I can get boots for Hand-cannons ? I dont think I have seen any on the vendors/factions.

New Monarchy gives the Purifier VII as a random Level Up gift. Therefore, New Monarchy.

Dead orbit has the best legendary hand cannon (venation) but you can only get it with a package I think

As of right now I'm leveling up Dead Orbit until I get a shader or two. Then once I get a FWC shader or two I'm gonna stop leveling factions. I'm not a fan of how the New Monarchy stuff looks. I've already got good gear so I'm only with the factions for the shaders. I don't wanna spend more time not wearing Cosmic Joke than I have to.

3 RepliesI joined up with Future War Cult even though I rarely use a Hand Cannon. I thought their armor options were cooler looking for Warlock and I liked their emblems. Plus they have Kool-aid, marzipan, Turkish Delight, and marmalade.

I'm doing them all. Done witb dead orbit, just about done with new monarchy, then head over to future war cult. By the way did crusible and vanguard also. Can buy stuff from them all If I want. But not sure if I'll use it being lv 30

2 RepliesMy current problem: I love the Dead Orbit Gear. However, after finding out a bit of politics, I find I'm more of a New Monarchy guy. My problems aside, here are the factions focuses. New Monarchy - Wants to restore Earth to the Golden Age. Most legal authority of all factions. Dead Orbit - Wants to leave Earth. Feel the City is weak and will fall to any major attack. Future War Cult - A bit of a neutral faction. Wants to build a strong military. Feel that whether they stay or leave, they will always have to fight the Darkness. Choose the combination of story and gear that fits you best. Don't go vendors, they reduce the amount of roleplaying in my opinion. It's nice to have a faction to side with. If I were you, I'd chose FWC. The neutral factions are always fun for all. And they have that awesome Hand Cannon.

Man I'm going with future war cult and new monarcy. Not for political reasons or anything but for the armor and weapon capabilities. Those two have the armor with the right add on and special abilities that will help me round out the building I'm looking to complete. I guess if I had to take a political stance I would say future war cult though :)

New Monarchy: Intelligence+strength Future War Cult: Intelligence+discipline Dead Orbit: Discipline+strength. It your into Rp and lore (As I am) you may want to look at their respective political stance. New Monarchy: Affiliated with the cities total family, they want to rebuild golden age. They hav the most legal authority. Future War Cult: belives an all out war with the darkness is imminent so need to build up armed forces, also the most secretive. Dead Orbit: the city is doomed and a trap, the only hope for survival is to flee into space and find a new home world. Willing to bend and break rules if necessary.

Join what benefits your playstyle, you will get better weapons than what they offer from raiding. I joined FWC for the int. + disc. Was better for my character build.

I read somewhere else that each one's gear focuses on 2 combination of intellect, strength and discipline. So, super+grenade/super+melee/nade+melee. I just don't remember who has which emphasis.

1 ReplyI am assuming that on future updates the level cap will go to 40 and you will need say rank 5 or more in a faction to get the good loot. That will probably mean a major commitment. So far it seems a bit pointless. For example, 5 minute ago I got legendary vanguard arms, an I can't but them yet. I also have a legendary nine auto rifle I got from another engram.

I like FWC, gear looks cool and they focus on intellect and discipline. Probably gonna go for vanguard and crucible rep first though since no one will Awnser my forum ? About what the pros and cons are of rep a certain faction compared to the 2 we start as.
