Raid Matchmaking

It seems strange to provide feedback on raids before the first one has even been released, but I'd like to plead with Bungie to please install matchmaking for them. I love playing Destiny, and I can't wait to try out the end game content, but none of my friends have a PS4 like I do. That means I have to scour the message boards trying to find a group to raid with. I get that the raids are supposed to be incredibly hard and that they're supposed to require coordination, but I'll be just as coordinated with the randoms I meet on the forums as I would be with the randoms I met in matchmaking. As the system stands now, raiding is going to be much more cumbersome for me and people like me than it should be.

Everything should have matchmaking. Story missions, weekly strikes, and raids. I can't fathom why they don't, or won't. The replay value will be significantly diminished for me unless they change this. I don't know that I want to even bother with the expansions at this point because I will likely just one and done them like I did with the main campaign. I want to have access to all the game has to offer without having to make a bunch of friends, join a clan, go on a website to find people, coordinate times to play certain things based on people's schedules, etc. I will be stuck grinding basic missions over and over again trying to level up unless they change this. It's so unnecessary and limiting. All the stuff that affords the best loot/gear will be without matchmaking. It feels like being forced into something for no real reason. They have a great matchmaking system and they should fully use it. It only needs to match 6 people at most. The big team battle Halo matches matched up to 16 people together. Again, use the awesome system you have created fully.

  • I could not agree more. Bungie needs to look no further than FF XIV ARR to see how to properly implement cooperative multiplayer. Do I have to use the party finder or duty finder to get a pick up group for dungeons or raids? No, but sometimes I don't have time to track down a bunch of other players who are ready for the same content as I am. Are random groups perfect? No; but I know the risk I'm taking with matchmaking and sometimes I meet some amazing players that way.
