What the actual f***?

Okay. So this might be a bit of a vent, but seriously, this is really starting to p*** me off. I've been trying to play destiny for two days now, and all I've had is 5-10 minute bursts of connection. The error code Canary keeps coming up, but there are a few things that are really starting to irritate me now. I've done everything that's been suggested, power cycling, port forwarding, and I have a 5G router that has full bars. My xbox remains connected to live, despite me being kicked off destiny, and with it being always online I can't even do anything, Another thing is they keep blaming MY internet connection, like it's my fault that Destiny is the only game that disconnects. I've been trying to find a way to contact Bungie just to find out what was going on, but there's no numbers or emails or anything whatsoever. I phoned xbox's tech support (who were great btw) and even they didn't have a number for Bungie. Bungie's contact us page is in the link, which is downright patronising. There's no alerts, and Bungie appear to be pretty much not giving a crap because this game made so much money. This issue occurred in the Beta, too which makes it even more infuriating. This is without doubt the worst customer service I've ever had, and for a game that already had my £50 weeks before release. I can't even contact them to ask for a refund.

I mean sure its a game with a lot going on but with all these server/connection issues you would think bungie would at least address the community. I mean they put a help guide that just blames your connection. I wish they would just say something as easy as "Hey, we hear your issues and we are currently working to solve those problems. Sorry for the inconvenience." But to have all these problems going on with no comment from bungie seems like they are just ignoring the community.

Do you have a Virgin Super Hub 2? If so, see below! I actually found a fix for it! Login into your Super Hub 2 router settings (using a browser type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar). Default password is "changeme". Select "Advanced Settings". Select "Wireless Radio". Depending which frequency you are connected to (2G or 5G), change the wireless mode to 54Mbps. Click "Apply". FYI, I am connected to 2G at 54Mbps now. And the game runs silky smooth for me, even played with a friend earlier. This completely worked for me and I have played uninterupted Destiny all afternoon. Please try this! Hope it helps.

      • I'm getting pissed too. Bungie let me down. Like I was like a little child about to get candy and then some asshat throws it away. That's destiny. Bunch of hype for a generic borderlands style shooter, that barely -blam!-ing works. I mean so much money and shitty servers. They've lost a loyal customer

        • Thanks TotallyTom, I actually just saw your main thread, and I'm gunna try it out now. If it doesn't work for me though, I'm afraid I might have to contact microsoft about a refund, sadly :/ Such a shame, it's a good game...

        • this is getting silly now, ive put in so many online hours with other games and the same internet setup, 10 minutes at a time is not acceptable, if it were atleast an hour it would be better!

        • I am having the exact same issue buddy, I also get disconnected every 5-10 minutes and am then presented with the canary error code. I'm guessing you're on Virgin media ?
