I started coming up with this theory about the Traveler while playing the Destiny Alpha. It only continued to grow in mind through the Beta and the subsequent lull thereafter. This video is a theory/fan-fiction and I really want to get some feedback from the Destiny community. Have you had the same thoughts about the Traveler as I? And if you haven't, after watching the video, are you now second-guessing your view of the Traveler? Thanks!!!

Death Star You heard it here first folks.

Crazy thought, what if bungie intentionally left the story with gaping holes in it in order to have the community create theories about what the story actually is then would implement our ideas as the story. The gamers become the writers of the story. How -blam!-ing cool would that be??

The cabal are running from something
-
In the original destiny story. The traveler did bring the darkness
-
Well.. That was very moving.. Now I worry for my hunter, Seiko, has it all been a clever plan in disguise? Ughh.. My head hurts just thinking about it.. Seiko: -Looks up at traveler then back at ghost with a small frown.- "Keeping an eye on them..."
-
Plot twist: the traveler is evil and the darkness and it's minions are good.
-
I've thought this for awhile too. Also I believe the last raid will be the traveler.
-
Whoa, dude. That is deep. Question: Did anyone notice; what appears to be writing that changes throughout; on the traveler itself? Sometimes obscure, sometimes larger, bolder, but still looks like words. Gonna go through this video again and try to grab as much of it as I can. If, for no other reason to determine whether it is my mind's eye, or actual.
-
that is some good thinking.
-
Sorry guys but your theories of the vex and give being created by the traveller don't fit there trying to undo the traveller and kill it in multiple missions sorry.
-
first the cake is a lie now this!?

Stranger "A side must be taken (Looks at player) even if its the wrong one"
-
So let me get this straight we can travel to mars and Venus in about 10 seconds , but we can't go to the traveler that is hanging right over the tower????
-
Just wait...10 years down the road, the final cut scene will be Ronald McDonald strutting out of the Traveler with his floppy shoes and that unnerving smile that makes you question his motives.
-
He will rise. The fallen one. Shall rise.
. the fallen one is the last of his race, he is able use magic that has been long gone from the universe making him a god.erindu murdered his whole entire race, taking their souls so he could become immortal. using the ancient magic he began to take over the universe. not even the order could stop him, it was the creator and destroyer who put a stop to his crusade . he sealed him away and lost the key. erindu sat in his chair, planning and waiting for revenge. one day a being known as death accidently walked into Erindu’s tomb, awaking the evil immortal. Erindu was going to kill death but another plan came to mind. he would use death to build an army outside, an army he would only control. this army would have one mission and that is to find the lost key. Erindu is imprisoned in a box.
SPOILER: the traveler is actually master chief. the events of halo occurred centuries before Destiny
-
omg it's better than any ingame cutscene imo!! well done.

This was freaking awesome
-
Too bad the only way to find out is to buy the expansion pass and hopefully not have it take 10 years to tell.

That vid was sick, props to whoever made it. I too have had a somewhat similar theory, though not as well thought out. What if it is not The Traveler, who demands the sacrifice of our own, but instead one of us? For centuries and millennia, we have deceived one another, destroyed each other, all for the sake of gaining something. That something has been many things, land, race...knowledge. We have to remember that the belief back in those ancient times, that knowledge is power, still hold true today and The Traveler is nothing but knowledge, who would stand to gain the most from this? Could someone be taking advantage of The Traveler's weakened state to study it further, draw out its knowledge, it's power? I do not wish to point a finger, lest three more be pointed back at me, but I believe it to be someone in The Tower and each day their knowledge grows.

Like it!

343 Guilty Spark All the evidence I need, bungie likes inconspicuous villains. The Traveler is tricking us and I like this so much!

Hi, so having one of those slightly drunk introspection moments. I remember years ago while I worked at a movie theatre we showed a advertisement labeled "I Like Bees" (I may actually still have the cut tape for it laying around somewhere) which turned out to be a viral advertisement for a bungie game involving altered reality components. This was not the last time this component of interaction has been used by this studio. Perhaps the story is there we are just not digging for it properly. Just a thought, also alcohol speaking.

Nice voice change tech, very cool

Awesome vid

Fantastic! I personally do not agree with the theory, but this is presented expertly and deserves kudos.
