Greetings guardians! The launch is near, and with that people are starting to get their copies of destiny. The picture above (Which I do not own,) is a snap from the official destiny guide! More importantly though, it shows a guardian using a sword on a hive thrall! Now of course there have been rumors about whether or not swords will be usable in destiny for a long time now, but does this prove it?! I decided to do a little searching and I came across this... "Swords are a class of melee weapon in Destiny. They are utilized in combat both by Guardians[1] and enemy species, including some Fallen[2] and Hive[3] soldiers." ^ That was taken from the destiny wiki. Now does this mean sooner or later there'll be an option to change your melee weapon just like changing your gun? Now during one of destiny's weekly updates this was said... "Cobra : Tell me moar about swords. No way. The last time I let slip a detail about swords, Luke almost used one to skin me alive. Yes, THAT Luke. Don’t thank me. You guys are worth it, and you needed something to cheer you up that week." Now of course we're not going to know if there are usable swords in destiny till we play, but what do you guys think? Do you think your melee will be swappable for swords? If so would you use it? Or do you think it was taken out of the final game ?
