Threads on this from over 1 yr ago, but no real answers yet. Before you respond "NO"...hear me out. I know characters are linked to XBL and PSN gamer tags, but why couldn't character stats transfer through BNET? They'll already be online anyway - level, gear, progress, etc. GTA5 accounts can do this, so why not Destiny?
I'm still rocking a 360, but want a PS4 once price comes down...would be tough to start over once that time comes. Latest I've found is this (4/28/14):
He said that no decision has yet been made for those console owners who switch brands, meaning that a PS3 owner who buys and Xbox One might not be able to transfer their saves. "We don't have any plans to announce there right now. Traditionally that's been restricted by the platform [holders] themselves. We'll just have to wait and see where they go with that."

I am really hoping that cross platform transfers are going to be possible. I have an XBOX 360 but most of my friends have upgraded to a PS4 and will be playing destiny there. Circumstances prevent an upgrade for the time being, but someday I really hope to join them. Transferring my progress from XBOX 360 to the PS4 is really the only way this would be possible because starting over would put be back at square 1. I don't even mind having to purchase the game again for a different platform, its more about the hours spent grinding, looting and developing. To start over would be heart breaking.
