Are Hunters at a disadvantage???

Anyone else feel like the hunter has to be sooo precise while the Titan and warlock can just shoot the ground and kill a whole squad? I know we haven't had a chance to use blade dancer.... But as of now golden gun at best kills 3 people wtf! #teamHunter I swear if it wasn't for my grown man wanting to have a superman Cape, I'd be switching!!! #CapeGang

  • Dont forget there are upgdades for gold gun to male it penetrate multiple enemies. Or explode. On impact causing aoe damage. Also there will probably be exotic armour to give multiple bonuses to supers. So yeah I believe its balanced. I think hunter should be about precision anyway. Just my thoughts

    • It's true the golden gun only fires three shots but think about the damage of each. Its far more effective against a boss than fists or nova bomb

    • I'm with the below - I'm sure there's things one class can do that the other can't etc. End of the day, if it takes a little more skill to be precise then bring it on. Will make it so much more rewarding.

    • It depends on how you take it. Some like myself love to be precise, while others dont.

EDIT: Link don't seem to work so copy and paste. Might charge link to a video I made. Not saying Blade Dancer won't be useful, it will have its own role in raids. And you should be able to switch between the 2 as needed. I made this post cause many put down Gunslinger for PvE and I was like, they had to make it for a reason. This is high speciation since we haven't done a raid yet.
I just made a video shortly discussing why I think Gunslinger should be important for raiding based after conversations I have had on the forums. People seem to think Gunslinger is horrible for PvE, I think people are comparing it too much to the other classes and not seeing how it is different giving it a unique role. Since I did the research for that I figured I would post a Gunslinger Build for directly the situation in a raid I talk about, a heavy health boss fight that uses Enrage timers, if this exists in raids. The traits could change at release though so this build could become void. The focus of this build isn't to kill directly but to constantly dish out damage to one single target. There are traits that take advantage of killing multiple targets, but this build is based on a single target. Grenade of choice Incendiary- this will keep damage hitting the target. Throwing knife trait - Incendiary Blade, again to help keep constant damage on target Passive trait with this Gambler's Dagger, allows you throw an additional knife. If you time those abilities correctly you would most likely keep the target on fire constantly. Don't spam them at one time, you will do less overall damage. Timing with damage over time abilities is important. Golden Gun as everybody knows is the Super. Normally has three shot during a certain amount of time (with a certain trait on an exotic you get an addition shot). These 3 shots combined do more damage than a single Fists of Havoc and Nova Bomb in most situations. So their purpose to be sort of designed around doing damage to a single target. If you are in a timed fight then Gunfighter is your best trait to compliment Golden Gun, it reduces Golden Guns cooldown. Another nice passive trait is Scavenger. With this by picking up ammo you reduce cooldown of throwing knife and grenade allowing them to be used more often and pump out more damage. Some of the traits are of course situational like you may want to pick Over the Horizon instead of Gambler's Dagger if you forced at a longer range from the boss. With this build I would say intelligence is your best stat to stack first to use Golden Gun more often, relaying on Scavenger to use your other abilities more often. So I want to popularize this as how Gunslingers maybe useful or even needed in Raids depending on the encounters Bungie throws at us.
Well do real life hunters go and kill a deer with a heavy machine gun? I didn't think so.

      • No way. Have you seen blade dancer. It's sick and has AOE blast, or forward slash range attack and has timer. You could get multiple kills after initial super. I think hunter might have better PvP skills - hunter gets 2 attack subclasses while Titan and Warlock have 1 attack, and 1 defense or semi buff ability (for warlock)

      • One of the Arc blade's attacks has a 360 degree aoe spin that wipes out anyone in the area...

      • Yeah I always thought the Hunter's super was weak and lame compared to the others' supers...but they get hooded cloaks so it all evens out, lol. But seriously, blink, chain of woe, a ranged melee attack, and their grenade shores things up in terms of balance imo.

      • You obviously need to take a better look at the arch blade super. AOE damage in a radius, aoe damage in a projected wave, Encore = kills with archblade restores super energy = unlimited aoe potential against mobs. And we still have golden gun's precision super.... Nope, no disadvantaged here, (goes invisible) except maybe for you....

AOE is the trade off for precision. Personally, I prefer pin point, pick and choose plus the range is awesome. Hunters are fine.

          •
Have a bad feeling seeing hunters in PvP will become rare. Shooting from any distance is cool but can't compare to nova bombing a whole team without having to actually hit anyone! As for teleporting and swords seems great but by the time u get there the upgraded warlocks and titans become that much more beastly! The gold guns sight is not meant to be used as a sniper so u have to be within range. Still hoping they at least tweak the golden guns blast radius but I doubt it.
• it takes skill to use the GG. It also has more advantages in PVE, especially on flying bosses that you need to keep your distance.

            • The hunter can one shot people from any distance, the titans and warlocks are very close-medium range. Plus, in the retail game you guys get a teleport ability, swords, throwing knives, triple jumps etc, they are balanced

              • I think GG is fine. It's 3 guaranteed kills from any range provided u can aim.
