Thoughts on tattoos?

What do you think about tattoos? Do you find them attractive? Do you think they should all have meaning? Should they be allowed in the workplace? I'm curious to see all of your opinions.

  • If a girl has a few small ones it's fine, but if she's inked I see no attraction.

  • I myself love tattoos. I'm thinking of getting one soon about my favorite band or game, an insignia if anything for that. But other than that I think they look great on people and I find them somewhat attractive, but its all in moderation I suppose.

  • Love the look, can't wait until I can afford to get my first one. Soon.jpg. It has deep meaning to me too not just doing it cos it looks nice.

    • Tattoos arent anything new, they dont need to have meaning, and judging someone based on tattoos, is akin to judging someone based on color. ~guy with 8 tattoos

    • I think they're great. They're attractive on most people, but sometimes I think certain people look better without them. But it's not my body, so I can't make the choices for them. As far as allowing them in a workplace should go, yes, I think they should. Given they know what they're doing and they can do it correctly, I don't care what they put on their body.

    • I find it sad that we live in a society where breast augmentation and Botox are more socially acceptable than tattoos. I feel that people should do whatever they want to with their own bodies, be it surgery, piercings, hair coloring, tattoos, anything. If you're not hurting someone else, you should be allowed to do basically whatever you want. I find tattoos very attractive, and have several myself. No reason they shouldn't be in the workplace as long as they aren't offensive.

    • Tattoos I feel are like any other work of art. They can be beautiful, they can be good or bad and they can also be just plain stupid. As for the work place as long as a person doesn't have a tattoo/tattoos that are blatantly offensive then I don't care how many they have or if I can see them. If anything I'd probably tell them how cool I think it looks.

    • Small and tasteful is acceptable and sometimes cool but for the most part people who have em look like idiots

    • Eh. I get why people get them, but I find them very unattractive.

If it's not a good design then why bother getting one? i.e 95% of the world have tattoos they shouldn't have gotten / shouldn't get one. Don't come at me with it's about whether you like your tattoo, not everyone else, I don't wanna hear that shit.

      • I think they can be attractive if they're done tastefully. Small things are fine. I personally find sleeves and tramp stamps to be pretty unattractive though. Not all tattoos need to have a meaning, but you shouldn't get something that has a clear and distinct meaning just becuase it looks cool. I have no qualms about them in the workplace either, as people have the right to express themselves. Although, people without tattoos (or who's tattoos can be covered by business-wear) are most likely going to be perceived as more professional.
