Where did the 'gay lisp' come from?
Where did the gay [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8JQmPgsQPI]lisp[/url] come from? When did it start and why does it seem like most gay dudes have it? There was on guy I knew years ago, back in HS, he sounded 'normal' but then he came out, and started hanging out with the gay crowd and witihin a few months, he had the lisp.
Someone should make a nature documentary on it.

I imagine it would have to do with trying to replicate feminine behavior to better fit their view of themselves, and once that behavior is adopted long enough it becomes the norm.

1 ReplyThere have been a number of documentaries on why gay men act the way they do. From what I understand, it's that society has how a straight male is supposed to behave. There is no model for gay men. So, some just decide they take their own identity, in line with who they think they should be.

I was wondering the same thing yesterday. I know several people who spoke without the lisp, but when they came out they picked it up.

Its not a lisp. What it is is a guy trying to sound more feminine and alot of them sound naturally feminine. I do but I cover it up slot because I just think I sound lole a 12 year old. Sure you can 'learn' it per se but it's not like an accent. It mudt be something you want to have.
