Concerning "no trading"

I'd really like to know why people are so upset about trading being absent from the game. If we were able to trade then Bungie would have to implement some type of binding or weird looting system to ensure that people aren't farming exotics to sell or give away. Then you'd all complain about that!? What's so wrong with earning your own badass rewards? Think about it. If we were able to give gear away, certain fireteams or clans would only need a few key members tasked with gearing up the rest of the members and then we'd have a ton of people who had awesome weapons/armor that most of them probably didn't even earn themselves. AND THEN YOU WOULD ALL CRY. The last thing we need are people camping out in the Tower trying to sell gear for glimmer or, God forbid, real money. Ugh /rant

People demand Trading because : A: They are gold farmers B: Clueless players Right now, the only way to make money is selling 1 or 2 slot in a raid, that's about it. Anything with a Trade or Auction House is corrupted instantly. Do not try to put some stupid and idiotic restriction, it doesn't work mostly if you don't even understand the basic of Trading. If you think people don't spend real money for silly stuff ? People are selling those 17 FREE trading codes for $5 to $15. And yes , people are buying them. Trade System = Instant P2W And Shut up with your restriction, it doesn't work, I read and laugh at them all. Earn your gear and get good you filthy scrub +5 Renegade

Personally I plan to turn this into a political debate and say it's because all those democrats just hand things out to people so now people expect handouts!

        • I agree with what sounds like the majority here. I don't like the idea of trading. I feel you should have to earn what you're using for weapons & armor.

        • I think no trading is a good idea. Because when you get that legendary or exotic and you go to the tower i want to show it off. I like to work. For my armor.

        • I like the idea of trading. But I'm happier not to have it in the game for one reason: drop rates. There's a difference between balancing drop rates for the entire population of Destiny and for one person. If it's balanced for one person and you want them to be able to experience the awesome gear then you increase drop rates so they'll see interesting stuff. This benefits the middle of the road casual player who doesn't want to spend real money on auction house stuff because they actually have a chance at finding something themselves if they work for it. If drop rates were balanced globally for trade then all drop rates would probably be drastically reduced to preserve rarity and perceived value. The only way I would see weapons like that is if I were extremely lucky or decided to just pay for it. Neither is a particularly fun option for me. I want to believe that there's a way to include some form of trading but I honestly have no idea how it would work in any justifiable way.

        • So long as your hunter is collecting hunter items and your titan's are collecting titan equipment I don't see the problem. Trading would only reduce the gameplay time.

        • I wants trading for the first 16 hours of destiny. I'm in Australia and my fire team is in the US. It would be nice when they finally get on I can start a trade and be like "now beg for them, bitches." Lol.

        • Its because people are taking this as more rpg less shooter in a shooter it makes perfect sense not to that way every whiny brat with their moms credit card can't just buy some of the best guns in the game in and RPG its not as big of a deal because an economic trading system works with the game very well ( you might need supplies or repairs) so being able to sell off your loot to the highest bidder or even buying things for skills makes sense in those game where as destiny is more of a shooter and less of anything else so that kind of system is useless and would basically do far more harm than good More to the point: they either want it because they are viewing it as more of an RPG or because they feel as tho they are entitled to not having to work for anything

        • I actually also really hate the idea of being able to pay real money for online gear, as I have seen several games doing this as of late. From a business standpoint it makes sense for companies to do this, but it really cheapens the feel of the game when little rich kids can pay money to level up their gear, weapons, or whatever the game may be about. Of course the hardcore gamers probably don't care about this because they will still trash the little noobs, but still, in some cases it would unlevel the playing field.

        • I'm with the OP on this. Trading would be a bad idea for this game, it may work on some games, idk, I never play games where you can trade gear. But, it seems to me that people would just get access to items that they don't have the skill or patience to earn, and that would kind of defeat the purpose. If something is 'rare' or 'exotic' that means that not everyone has it. If they allow trading then everyone would have all those items, hence they would cease to be rare and exotic, defeating the whole purpose. Especially when you are talking about the concept of a raid designed to take 6 people hours to complete after several playthroughs. If you don't go through the raid, you don't deserve the reward for the raid.

        • Personally, the only form of trading i wish to see implemented would be the swapping of post-game loot. At the end of every mission or strike, everybody in the fireteam receives one or two items for completing certain tasks. Everyone in the team completed this challenge, and everyone receives loot. However, this is not always loot they want; it is just randomly given to each player from a pool of possible items. This can be a letdown to get items you don't want, even more-so when you can see clear as day that your teammate got an item you would prefer. therefore, I say you should be able to trade post-game loot with those who you played the mission with. It would be as simple as adding in a "swap loot" button on the post-game screen. You would select an item you want from a friend's loot, they would select one from your loot, and you would trade them off with one another. This still fits in with bungie's "earn your loot" mindset, as all of these items were gained by actions that you completed as a team. They were granted to each player for the same actions. However, it would allow for players to attempt to get items that they would prefer to have, rather than relying completely on luck of the draw then being left distressed that your teammate got the item you wanted for actions you did. I Think this kind of limited trading system could be implemented without changing the core aspects of the game, would not be game-breaking in the slightest, and would make many people happy.

        • no trading. I think its great that a player has to earn all of his or her stuff. Trading in other mmos usually revolve around crafting and in regards to weapons and armor, maybe trading with the immediate group in which the item dropped. We'll be just fine w/o trading.

        • I thing it is truly odd that Humans are such complainers with everything. It seems some are never happy because some mental thing triggers them to get mad and complain about at-least something every day of their life. I think everything Bungie has created is a master piece. With no trading present it rejects players from gaining gear with out earning it by either crucible marks, drops, glimmer, or rewarded for competing in an event or normal crucible. Now with this Historical master piece "Gaming God" Bungie has created I will create my own unique art in Destiny with my foes blood. (•‿•)

        • I would much rather earn my own weapons and armor. Sure, it can get frustrating hunting for them sometimes, but that's why they're so much sweeter when you do get them.
