August is Dragons Awareness Month! As I'm sure most you are already aware, since the days when man painted on cave walls, August has always been Dragons Awareness Month. The month of August is the 8th month out of twelve in our Gregorian calendar year. The number 8 is recognized as symbol, that when turned on its side resembles that of the symbol for infinity. It also resembles the long slender and looping body of a Dragon that is commonly seen in paintings and carvings throughout the history of our world. This symbolism, in turn, translates into "Dragons are Forever". Sorry Kanye, but Dragons trump diamonds every time. Now that I've shared an important part of history with you, let's talk about what Dragons Awareness Month is really all about. Now we already know that both Bungie, and the Community only truly thrive due to the existence of Dragons. This is the result of Bungie having reached a stage of enlightenment that motivated them to employ a team of Dragon consultants for all of their future projects, particular Destiny. This is why Destiny has begun to take the world by storm. Did you love the Destiny Beta? Well, the Dragons will tell you to thank the human work force, but that is because they are humble creatures. This month, you should learn who to really thank for those countless hours of enjoyment, and for the endless hours of fun that wait for us ahead. Now, as for the online forums, they are filled with Dragon related threads, and the utilization of #dragons tags on a daily basis. Through these actions, the essence of Dragons fuel the community's fire. The Dragons, are what keeps us in motion. They are our fuel. In every aspect if life, when one embraces the ways of the Dragon, their lives become complete. Their creativity soars, and their minds experience a sense of ecstasy. This is why Destiny has become such an incredible game. The artists and programmers, the writers... Every branch of the studio has been graced by the power of Dragons. They have obtained the ultimate creative clarity. And this gift is entirely the result of what Dragons have taught them. This is why Destiny will succeed. "That all sounds truly fascinating and quite incredible, Helveck! But how do I pay homage to this awesome power? How do I truly celebrate Dragons Awareness Month?" You might ask. Well, the answer is simple. You must spread the word! Luckily, there are many ways to do so. [b]Here are just a few ideas:[/b] - Create informative Dragon threads. - Share Dragon art. - Seek out and tame a wild Dragon and bring it to us. - Talk about how Dragons should be incorporated into Destiny. - Write Dragon/Destiny Fan Fiction. - Transform into a Dragon. - Breathe fire. - Complete the "Dragon Slayer" achievement before Destiny is released. - Build a full scale of model of me on a saddle riding a Dragon, made completely out of gold. - Turn your local bars bull riding machine into a Dragon riding machine complete with wings and fire-spewing action. - Get a Dragon tattoo. - Get a tattoo of you getting a Dragon tattoo. - Convince a Dragon to get a tattoo of you. - Learn to speak Dragon. - Convince a Dragon not to eat you. - Draw Dragon armor concepts for Destiny. - Write editorials in your local newspaper about Dragons Awareness Month. The list can truly go on forever. But these are just a few activities you can participate in, to show your appreciation and dedication to a species that has given so much, and asked for so little in return. Oh, and I believe it's important that I mention this side note... I and a few others will be watching very closely to see who is the most willing to participate in Dragons Awareness Month. The community member that shows the most dedication will be gifted a Bungie T from the Bungie Store. The decision will be made on the eve of Destiny's release.
