I have a bunch of neighborhood guys that come over to play some Halo 2 and Mechassult. We always have a lot of fun but whenever we played online we just don't feel the same way or have the same amount of fun. What I want is to play the classics again like the days of Call of Duty 2, Halo, and other games that were truly meant to be played with some of your best friends. So does anybody else want split screen back? And if so what kind of games should make a split screen return?

Play with them over the internet, that's what it's for. Splitscreen is literally not good for anything.
-
I hope the new battlefront has split screen, I can't believe most arcade games don't support it even though its very possible.
-
That's what Wii U is for and man with Mario Kart 8 do my friends and I have a blast

No. I'm a ginger and I will not unite

Try out system link

Split screen rules. I understand that a lot of people rather use online because it's just more convenient than having everyone at one persons house but that being said, I think it's a lot more of a fun time having everyone there together. I play local splitscreen 2v2 for halo 3 and my friends and I always make fun bets

I love split screen gaming. Im glad I had it growing up, and sad to see it go. One of the main reasons I'm buying a Wii U is for the multiplayer on a single console. I play games with my room mates and girlfriend mostly. Last year the best we had was a couple 2 player split screen games and Halo 4. It's ironic that modern games focus on multiplayer yet force ever player to have their own console and TV. I understand in some games split screen just wouldn't work, but I see no reason why I shooter shouldn't allow 4 player split screen in every game mode.

Nope. I much prefer online gaming instead of having my field of view cut in half (or worse, a quarter of the normal size). Split screen sucks, I'm glad it's dying out. I'm also glad that my friends aren't poor moochers and can afford their own systems and internet access.
-
I will fight for LAN gaming but split screen, meh, nice to have but the smaller views and screen peeking drives you bonkers.
-
If I got a dollar for every time split screeners have ruined my online experience in any game by quitting, betraying, lack of skill, or other shenanigans, I'd have a Ferrari 458 Italia by now. Good riddance if you ask me.

I know. It's not practical, and smaller screens is a drawback, but I love Split screen gaming. Many hours of Halo Reach's firefight were spent next to my brother, with a tiny screen. And with other games, like Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3. Those are newer games, but i loved their split screen.

Don't use it, don't care.

I play with my girlfriend, we used to love playing ll kinds of games together split screen with our online buddies, Microsoft have seemed to wanna kill that for years because gradually splitscreen goes away or gets worse.

Edited by Toa Axis: 8/21/2014 6:38:47 PMAgreed. People need to realize that a significant advantage that consoles have over PCs is the ability for local play. That's one of the main draws for consoles, they're living room devices after all. It's one thing the excel at. The people who want split screen to be gone make me sad. EDIT: Excuse my ignorance regarding split screen on PCs. I meant that consoles do split screen better, since they're mainly set up in the living room with a large TV. Most people have PCs hooked up to a monitor, and while it can work, it's not exactly optimal.

For me split screen can make or break a multiplayer game. Talking over a mic is never as enjoyable as sitting in the same room.
-
BRING BACK SPLIT SCREEN!!!
-
There's always the Wii U mang
-
It's so they sell two consoles and two games instead of one
-
What the hell kind if logic is that? Gamers don't have personal friends
-
I love split screen. 3/4 of my games have been purchased for their split screen gameplay! But none of my heavy go to games anymore are splitscreen. Hoping more next gen releases do feature that.. Feature. (Rainbow six,Battlefront, Halo etc)

Split screen is more fun. Online you find jerks, trolls, 4 year olds, over competitive players and so on. If BattleFront does not have third person with bots and split screen, I won't be happy at all. I'm ok if it will be an FPS only, but it must have bots and split screen.

Not gonna happen, its not practical
