So the first expansion is set to release in December. I was kind of surprised how early it's coming. I wasn't expecting it for at least 6 months. So how to go guys feel about when it's being released

I take it as a good sign that they weren't down to the wire on their shipping date for the full game so they had resources to spend elsewhere. If Bungie is/was confident to spend resources on DLC already (usually has to be sent a month prior so the consoles can approve it), then they are happy with the state of the full release. Knowing Bungie's track record for polished games I am looking forward to the content we'll be getting.

Edited by BenMet: 8/14/2014 9:13:19 PMI'm more annoyed that they already have content ready with a release date set when the game hasn't even come out.
-
It's surprising to see new content coming that soon, in a good way. Hopefully it's a sign that they plan to support all modes of the game on a frequent basis. I can't get enough of this game!
-
I am indifferent. I will get it when I am ready for it, not just because it is available.
-
I feel very happy about it, I love to have stuff tossed in my face to keep me busy.

Its probably a fiscal move to grab the most from the Christmas buying rush. I for one would agree with you about the wait. I'm a working stiff and not a 'sitting at the console all day' pro, but if this doesn't make the grade financially they won't be able to give us another one. To Bungie I say Qapla!
-
Its out christmas present to us because bungie loves us

it's a way of having a subscription fee without subscribing.

I want new dlc every month. Willing to spend $20 on it.
-
At least it won't be day one dlc. That's the slap in face
-
The plan is DLC expansions every other year starting 2014. So it makes sense to see a DLC by December. The one after that will be in 2016.
-
Why not? They probably started making it when they had the basic framework of the game completed. So once final touches are made for release, the dlc will be completed in no time

It's actually longer than usual for Bungie. They used to release the first map packs for halo games around 70 days after launch and all subsequent map packs 70(ish) days apart. At least that's the way it was for H3 and Reach. Correct me if I'm wrong.

i heard they're adding pandarians to the game

To get every cent from the Christmas noobs

I think it's coming way to early too. To me that's saying there is not much in game content, but I'm still excited about this game anyway
