...I don't know, I was thinking about it, and for me, I'm not a hard core gamer, So I really don't need all that stuff that comes with the game, it'll just sit around gathering dust and become more work for me when it comes time for the monthly house cleaning. However, that's not to say that I won't be getting the game! I"m super excited about playing it! I mean I hardly even use the plastic cases for the games :P I will be pre ordering the regular standard edition from GS to get the vanguard gear and what not, but I think $100 bucks is just way out of my price range for games in general. I don't even play DLC that often, and if anything i'll be playing the AAA games that out in October and November. Anyways, comment below on how you feel about the SE's. How you spend your money is your business so i'm not even going to try and discourage you. See you Star Side Guardians.

Bought standard from GS, don't need all the glitz and glamor bullshit. If I want the dlc down the line I'll buy it then but all I need is the game.
-
My thoughts exactly, why do I need all the extra bits of plastic that will have zero value in the future. I just play the game and that's all I need
-
I agree with the reason of "do I really need to case, books, etc?" However, the 2 DLC expansions being paid for was worth it for me. The SE is $60 + ($20×2) for each DLC = $100. That's the price you're eventually going to pay anyways. I figured that I might as well pay for the DLC up front and get the cool case and art work as a bonus. You said you're probably not gonna play the DLC, but this isn't like CoD DLC. This DLC will actually add to the longevity of game play and story, and not just be an extra PvP map.
-
That was my exact reasoning for getting the digital guardian version on ps4 comes with all the bonus ingame swag, but I don't have to deal with physical things around my house. I would probably lose it since I'm not a collector lol
-
I ordered online from gamestop I dont know if I will get it on realese day... I paid about 77 bucks for everything idk if its a ripoff????
-
Unless you want the booklets and star chart (and other junk) just go with the Digital Guardian Edition (all the same in game goodies but no solid books or maps)
-
Personally, I like all the cool, unique books and maps and stuff that comes with the LE. It'll give me something to read, look at, and draw from in my spare time (I.e. Power outage, school).
-
well $99 for standard in australia and $130 for digital ge but want he exp[ansions so got that that's us$91 us$120
-
I salute you for your common sense.
Unless this was a really well crafted troll, in which case I salute you for that.
-
Its funny how people are shocked at a $100 price you guys are lucky , mine was $ 150 ( Australia) buti mean the dlc dosent come till later and the rest is upgrades (new ship, new ghost case , better sparrow) thats why I pre order
-
$60 for the game, $40 for both DLC, $100 SE. Most everyone will get the DLC once they're released, so getting the SE is like getting all those extra goodies for free!

Edited by Mandingo: 8/10/2014 3:23:26 PMAll Collection Edition aren't worth it. The only Destiny version that worth it = Digital
-
The dlc is going to be new missions and strikes as well ass new pvp maps. You're going to pay about $65.00 after taxes and the dlc is $35.00, which is $100.00, right? All the other stuff is like freebie at that point. Have fun not playing dlc? So weird
-
If you don't want it i'll take it, I couldn't get my hands on one in time.
-
My old lady would -blam!-in murder you for only cleaning once a month. I probably would too. Pussy don't like dirty houses my friend!
-
I went the other way. I ordered the standard edition and then went and played the beta and loved it. As the two DLC packs will pretty much bump up the price so the stuff inside comes to about $5 I thought I would get the LE Edition. Also there is one intriguing item in the pack...
“Arms and Armament” Field Guide: Many believe the weapons and armor featured in this record are a myth. You will learn the truth.
Could it be locations of hidden weapons?
-
Yup, I did the same. I don't mind picking up the DLC at a later date if I'm enjoying myself. I figured I would test the water 1st with the Standard edition just to see how greedy Activision are going to get before I invest more.
-
yeah my best friend is like that too. he hates spending extra money on limited editions and he calls me dumb when i do it haha. i rarely buy limited editions unless its a game ive been dreaming of:) i love collecting games and systems so im always happy when a game i REALLY want has a nice limited version. i havent bought any limited editions in 3 or 4 years until they announced the ghost edition. i havent been this excited for a game since legend of zelda ocarina of time back im 1998 so i didnt hesitate ordering the ghost edition:) my friend said i was insane haha. as for u not really wanting the limited...its totally understandable plus you can save major money all the while STILL getting an amazing game:) yeah all the extra stuff can be neat and all but when it comes down to it...its really all about the game:) no matter what version we all get i just want everyone to have a blast playing destiny:)
-
I cancelled my LE, plan on opening my GE. I dont mind I got to nerd out sometimes.
-
I'm getting limited. Kinda wanted the Ghost. I am sort of a collector, to me I mostly wanted the field guide thing that came with it. As long as you play Guardian, you are needed to defend the wall.
-
By AAA games he meant cod aw
-
I got the limited for the xbox one but I was really thinking of getting the ps4 bundle but I hear the only thing different is the resolution. Plus I heard there are some major lag with some of the Operating System on the ps4
-
Go to the digital side! We have ughh WE DONT HAVE TO GET UP TO CHANGE DISCS!
-
I don't think you get vanguard with standard.
-
Well I was thinking the same thing, then I remembered that I should probably buy the season pass. The game plus the pass is only $5 less than the LE. And I thought the arms guide looked really neat and I like stuff like that and the metal case just looked totally BA. So for me, that alone was worth $5 so I got the LE
-
How do you know if your pre order was cancelled I got it from GameStop and it is the limited edition I preordered
