I feel as tho this needs to be changed. You have to hope 5 other friends are on and that they have destiny and that they are willing to put the time required into these several hour long raids. I think it needs a matchmaking system. I get it needs cooperation to play but I'd rather have a sucky team every once in a while then to not ever even get to play them. N97
Edit: listen some people are all for how it is now but others want an option. If you have the friends for it then by all means play with just them but others want an option. What if you only have four other friends on? This way you don't have to beg and plead a friend to hop on. You can simply find one person through matchmaking.
Edit: I'm for it and I don't think it would nerf anything. Hear me out. They already have different difficulty levels for raids. Now on halo they had easy normal heroic legendary. Of course they didn't expect the casual gamers to complete legendary or heroic that's why easy and normal is in place. People didn't cry for legendary to be nerfed simply bc of course it's hard they know that there's no reason to cry about it being to difficult when it's simply a fact hard is freaking hard. Just my opinion of course

Edited by Tom T: 8/3/2014 12:21:51 AMLet me try an analogy. You are feeling very hungry. I am going to propose two scenarios, try to imagine what you would do in each. In scenario 1, there are only vegetables and rice in the cupboard/fridge. In scenario 2, all of the foods in scenario 1 are available but so is a vast selection of junk foods. In scenario 1, you are forced to prepare a healthy and nutritious meal, or else continue suffering your hunger. In scenario 2, there is a quick and easy way of satiating your needs. What do you do? The first scenario forces greater investment, which will pay off in the long term. The second scenario offers the temptation of a choice that will leave you feeling drained in the short term, and in the long term has consequences on your health. Be honest, in scenario 2 would you opt for the healthy choice when you feel very hungry, with junk immediately available and a healthy meal twenty minutes away? Destiny doesn't risk the damage of scenario 2, and ensures players MUST opt for the healthy option. Players who are hungry for challenge will have to prepare their meal, by making friends, perhaps searching on bungie.net and joining clans. They may be inconvenienced, but long term they will be better for it.
