Okay, so we've seen that PS4 is getting the pre-download for the digital copy of the game, which looks to be the best bang for buck version of the game. That's okay, since it's about time PS4 had something up on Xbox since The Last of Us. I think they deserve at least SOME special treatment.
My question though is does this mean that us Xbox users have to wait til September 9 to digital download? And will we be getting the same Digital Guardian version with all the features and cool stuff? Any info anyone has would be great

Probably. It's said that Sunset Overdrive will be the first major game to start off the digital pre orders. But they haven't' said when that option is coming just yet. Hopefully it will be the next update, but who knows if it will be out in time for Destiny or not. At any point, it is coming but if it will be in time or not for Destiny? We don't know just yet.

Edited by Whereismysniper: 8/1/2014 2:57:17 PMI'm pretty sure xbox isn't getting the digital guardian edition. So if you want all that extra stuff you might want to get the physical copy variant of the limited edition.

Its isnt special treatment. 99% of games can be pre downloaded now on the PSN. It has nothing to do with Destiny.

It's an Xbox issue. I have been searching the internet for news on the DGE and have found nothing other than Xbox not allowing pre-orders on the Digital store.

I come with good news and source yes us xbox owners will get the option to buy the digital deluxe edition we just cant pre order it http://news.xbox.com/2014/07/games-destiny-beta-announcement

PS4 can preload but you can't play it until 3am Eastern. So you don't really get to play that much earlier.
