RAISE THE CLAN CAP

Should be 500

Should be 1000

Should be limitless

75 clan members is not enough, for those who like to join and play with large groups E.g. location based clans (AusGuard = Australian based clan) 75 is just not enough, why not 500 or 1000? as of now it seems we need to make 5 different sub clans for one big group.

  • If your clan is larger than 75 members you have completely missed the entire purpose of a clan. To gain the full clan experience you need to build up an atmosphere where members know each other, are able to play together, and to enjoy each others company enhancing the game experience. Mass recruit clans are full of randoms with one thing in common, they assume numbers represent strength and Status. But lets be real. The best PvE clan will not have 500+ members. The strongest pvp clan will not have 500+ members. These ranks and entitlements will be held by the smaller clans. The clans who have worked on getting to know each other. The small, tight knit clans that work together regularly.

        • I'm not sure exactly how the clan system works in Destiny and Bungie.net. I think you should be able to be a part of more than one clan like 3 or 5 max

        • If u dont know everyone in your clan off the top of your head. Your not a clan and u have too many members. Basically you will have groups form in the clan itself and they will eventually break off into their own clans. U dont want hundreds in your clan. Your clan members should be able to recognize Every other member WITHOUT clan tags.

            • Clans need to small like 25 people max. If bungie wants people to know each other therefor more would pointless.

              • This is a rewording of a response I made to a comment here: I get where people coming from about smaller, tight-knit clans and the advantages of a smaller number of people working together and getting to know eachother in those situations, but at the same time there are some groups (like mentioned in the OP) that have a large following, people that want to rep them (with clan tags and nameplates) and a limit as to how many can actually do that. Realistically will 250+ players play with eachother? Probably not, but there's still the social aspect of being in a large group/clan - the group forums being one of them. There's also the concern that if clan-based rewards/bonuses were introduced, people that were forced to go into separate "subclans" due to member caps will be encouraged [i]not[/i] to play together, even if they want to.

                Yeah I agree, this concept is not restricting anyone who desires to have a small 'tight-knit' clan, you can still achieve this with a limitless clan cap by simply not inviting further members to join. I can't speak for every other aspiring large clan, but with over 250 members so far, I feel I can approach, join and build a rapport with each and every member I happen to run into or group with due to social community dynamics set by our team of admins. Its with any MMO, some large guilds/clans can feel diluted and having you feeling that you're just a number and not part of a team, then other large guilds make you feel like you're part one big social network, rich in support, positivity and team-play resources. If being part of a smaller clan to gain that sense of closeness is your thing, then do so, no one has or ever will stop you. Since when has it become an issue to people on how other people choose to affiliate themselves socially in a game? It's not like a clan vs clan pvp imbalance issue.

              • 75 is pretty big in a game where you can only fireteam up to 3 people (6 for crucible)

              • Its better the way it is so that way you can actually know everyone in a small group, rather than have over 1000 people and barely know 20 of them.

              • Maybe we should see how it works in practice before we demand that they change it? What if they have a clan vs. clan PvP scenario planned and 75 is just the right max number for their design? Give their design decisions a chance to fail or succeed before you squeal. They obviously made a game you want to play...maybe they know what they're doing.

              • Really.... I would rather play with friends than to play with people i don't know. If I wanted to play with people I don't know then I would go to matchmaking alone.

                • 75 is perfect not like your going to be able to play with all 75 at one time at most you will have about a dozen you play with regularly
