Companies have zero obligation to make products more affordable unless it's the difference in making a sale. Will you still purchase a single copy of the game? If so, your $60 still goes towards sales whether only one person or four people are playing it. The only way for you to have a meaningful impact here is to not purchase the game at all. Even then, it will only matter if there aren't many more people like myself buying additional systems and copies for our loved ones. For all we know, some market research person may well have figured that more people will buy extra copies than will forego the game entirely due to lack of splitscreen. The same kinda thing has already been done regarding framerate parity (that equal fps will mean more people not holding out until they get their new consoles during the upcoming holiday season, nudging old generation sales on release up a bit).
