does it make me a bad person that I care about my kill to death ratio?

I love playing crucible. Sure some games I get my ass handed to me, but a fair amount of the time I find myself in the top 3 of the match. My kd ranges between 2.15-2.30 and I'm trying to push it higher as I like to look good in the crucible. Does this make me a bad person? I love PvP and PvE equally but to me I want my PvP stats to impress :)

  • I have always liked to have a high KD, but I also like to win, and it's impossible to win an objective based game without caring about the objective. Now, I'm not necessarily saying you have to cap every objective. That is actually detrimental in my opinion. People should be more focused on capping and defending rather than capping and hauling ass to the next flag. That ends up in a never ending ring around the rosey type situation, which is really annoying to me. My two friends and I play together and at first we sucked, but we got a lot better the more we played. We all fell into our roles. I was up close and personal, one of my friends was a mid-range support guy who would help me clear out a point and then cap, and my other friend was basically a sniper who would hold down choke points and defend flags. After we found that synergy, we began winning probably 80% of our games and all had very high KDR. So, the moral of the story is, find some friends you play well with and you should be able to have a high KD as well as a high WL. That is far more impressive than a 2.5 KDR and .4 WL.
