I first booted the beta during my lunch hour so I could create my character, finish the tutorial, and familiarize myself with the menus. I noticed I had the option to select people's names and invite them to my fireteam. I thought...cool. When I came home from work and booted it up that option had disappeared entirely. I tried going through my friend's gamercard and inviting them that way but it doesn't work. He tried inviting me with no success. I was able to join another friend's fireteam invitation but we couldn't hear each other's mics. I have read that people need to set their fireteam to public...but I don't see that option anywhere. Under Roster/Fireteam the only option I see is the Party button. Any ideas on any of this?
