I saw a post on Xbox Wire that said, "DON'T get too obsessive about maxing out your character before jumping in [to the Crucible]... the game removes level bonuses in order to ensure as equitable a playing field as possible."
Ha! Well, my character had completed all of the content in the beta, had all uncommon gear, and was at the max level 8... but when I jumped into the Crucible multiplayer it still seemed really unbalanced.
In match after match, it seemed like whichever team had the best weapons were the ones who dominated... and they really dominated. Even at max level with decent (I thought) gear from campaign mode, I was getting one-shot killed by weapons I hadn't even heard of... over and over. Now, I'll admit I'm not the most skilled competitive FPS player in the world, but if there's one game I felt I could hold my own at, it was Halo multiplayer... but this sure ain't Halo multiplayer any more, eh?
