I was wondering if you could implement an assassination or a sneak takedown on enemies? Because in countless times i sneak behind an enemy and just punch him thinking something would happen but doesn't :S it would also add a tactical way to fight your enemies without alarming them and them not knowing what even hit them

I prefer my warlock melees, and I have no interest in switching to solar over void. Although, after playing Crysis since the first game, I really love sneaking and breaking necks.

bladedancer

Play a Hunter and become a bladedancer. You'll have almost everything you want. Sneak attacks from behind... Energy sword... Invisibility... But if you cross my Titan in the Crucible, I'll break you like a monkey on a stick. Haha.
-
That's one of the blade dancers abilities. That in combination with his ability to go invisible is gonna make him hated in PvP.
-
Killing with a single attack from behind would be nice.
-
agreed, i loved taking out a covenant camp silently one npc at a time...

They should have just gone Halo style and made melee's to the back OHK's. You know since its not like their is a mini map that reveals everything that is near the player that's not crouching. Get smacked in the back well you should have checked the mini map.
-
I also agree. I'd like to see that. The way they could implement take downs for three classes, just imagine. The Hunters will be obvious. Reach and Halo 4 like. As for the other two classes. Think about it. Bare hands and magic? I foresee neck snapping, choking to death, or back breaking. Then I see imploding skulls or something of that nature with magic pressure or something. Lol

Screw the assassinations... The hunter doesn't even have stealth! I was so bummed out when i couldn't sneak past the enemy for a surprise attack.

Best sneak attack is a grenade at your enemies feet. Won't even have a body to hide. Lol

Edited by GalaxySpider: 7/28/2014 8:07:11 AMplease no assasinations. Instead of shooting a guy behind you, your dumb teammate tries to assasinate the guy behind you which only gives the enemy time to kill you... I hated that in Reach and I don't wanna see such pointless nonsense in PvP. It encourages anything but teamplay. Why does every modern shooter needs that anyway? What's so cool about that all the kids want it? Same with Battlefield. It's just annoying that my soldier is stuck in an animation for like 4 seconds....seriously. Maybe for PvE but not in PvP. I would welcome a beat down kill from behind, for PvP, though.
-
Yes and no maybe only in over not pvp
-
Agreed. It would make being stealthy actually rewarding.

For the Crucible, I definitely feel like a backsmack should be a OHKO. Especially since, as far as I can tell (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this), there's nothing you can do to keep yourself from showing up on nearby enemies' radars short of standing still.

Edited by THOMSY Aus: 7/28/2014 7:13:03 AMNO ASSASINATION/SNEAK TAKE DOWN This is one thing that totally annoyed me, especially in PvP. I know this is not Halo, but a beat down from behind should still be an instant kill. Many times a sneeked behind on people and tried to do an assassination, and a single beatdown from behind would not kill them. This has been really the only thing I have found annoying. I would also love to see assassinations animations like that Bungie implemented in Halo Reach. Each class would have unique assassinations. This would be very cool.

Agree

Bump i totally agree
-
All classes need this
-
The bladedancer sub-class gives bonus damage to a melee attack from behind. Hopefully it can one hit kill in PVP.
-
I believe that Bungie intends for this to be a Bladedancer skill.
-
I think it' extremely odd that Bungie was the first to invent Assassinations (stylish takedown animations from behind, for those unfamiliar) in Halo: Reach, and everyone thought it was so cool that the creators of Gears of War, Crysis, Battlefield, and others copied the idea, and it's now basically an industry standard in FPSs. Then Bungie drops it..?? They also invented Theater Mode, and Forge. I'm not sure a map editor would have AS much use since....you can't pick up weapons -_-....but creation of the map itself is still great and results in tons of cool user-created content. Why no map editor? I don't feel like Bungie's cares as much about the community any more. :/

Agreed
-
I would support different takedowns for different classes. Hunter takedowns are silent and stealthy, Titan takedowns are brutal and bone-crunching.

Hunter -> Bladedancer -> Back stab (Blink strike 2) Can't wait for that ... Especially with hungering blade, escape artist and blink
