Solution to carrying over gear
Although I'm against wiping us clear of sweet items it seems there is no real way to give them to us without making us OP at launch. So I've been thinking about it and i think ive realized the best way to please both sides.
The best way to do this is if we kept all of our gear but we would have to reach level 8 over again to unlock all of it. That way weren't ahead of the game yet we will still have the loot we worked hard for.
Thoughts?

3 RepliesYou will fly past level 8, and even 20 before long, after the full game comes out and all the "sweet" items you've collected in the beta will be worthless and quickly replaced by even more awesome gear suited to your (and your enemies') level. You found rare items once and it didn't take long; you'll be able to do it again, don't worry. =)

To be fair, lots of us would be getting too much if the stuff did carry over. I got the Ghost Edition on order. So, I'd get all of the content from that, pre-order content, AND everything I've gotten from the Beta. That's too much to get day 1.

carry over things that wouldn't give us an actual advantage but that would save us time such as the 20 ghosts we revived.

Why not just keep anything and everything you put in your vault? then you could transfer a limited amount of items while still being able to keep the exclusive ones... like the iron banner class items and weapons

2 RepliesWould just like to drop this here, I really dont understand how people are saying if we get to keep our gear we will be too op. I have 2 main thought on this #1. All of the blue and purple items i have cant be used until levels 10 and 20 respectfully so come launch day people wouldn't even be able to use these items until they reach the appropriate rank, I highly doubt by the time you hit 20 someone who did not play the beta wouldnt have already found a legendary item/wep that competes with yours #2 if people are saying you will be OP in the crucible, how might I ask? everything is equalised in the crucible so your legendary handcannon is going to be just as effective as someones shitty white handcannon. The only time as far as we know where stats arent equalised is in iron banner, and honestly if you dont have the best gear you can possibly find you shouldn't even be competing in IB TL/DR I think rank should be reset but gear kept

its a good idea, but if we start over we have to replay the story and have to go through devils lair at lvl 6ish again. then face the eye ball eye i forgot his name. and it took me 3 hours because of the devils lair. considering they're also letting us play on the moon tomorrow and play the missions there it would be kinda stupid to wipe us clean of everything and make us start all over again. you feel me ?

1 ReplyI think they are giving us the exclusive player card for playing the beta tomorrow as the thing we get to carry over. I am satisfied with that. I don't really care if we keep our stuff or not, I have some nice things, but I'm sure Ill gets some better stuff. There are a lot more strike missions, planets, and things to buy in the full version so I'm sure starting over will be just fine.

I didn't even think it was possible until I saw some articles against it, so the chorus of anti-carry overs illuminated me on this possibility (thanks!). Then I though, "you know Cr4sh that's not a bad idea; after all, it's virtually the same build and this is a public beta." So, I would totally support your idea and I think it should happen.

Ok so it would be amazing if our stuff carried over. You wouldnt be too op cuz all the best stuff is over rank 8. And imagine if all the xp you earned after the rank cap was reached was carried over than its like an instant lvl 15 or so.

All I want to keep is the class items so the capes and titian waist cloth. I found a level 10 blue one that looks pretty cool and have a level 8 Iron crucible one. These don't do anything but make you look cool. Purely looks only.
