bungie, some of us DO like your game
I'm sure you rise above it, but most of this community just seem to want to give you grief or abuse, and for some of the most ridiculous and unreasonable things.
It isn't everyone, and you well know people are more compelled to complain than give praise, but some of us do love Destiny and want to be a part of it, if not necessarily a part of the community.
I can't wait for the full game, and thank you for the opportunity to try it out for free.
It has always worked beautifully for me, and I'm just very impressed with it all.
Excellent work, and congratulations on the FIRST next gen killer app!

So far I'm blown away by the fun and level of polish packed into this game. I can't wait for release day. That being said, no PC release and only 30fps makes me a sad panda. I'm still going to play the Hell out of it on my xbone, and buy copies for my poor friends so I have someone to play co-op with.

Excellent on the game being nearly flawless (I found ONE bug) But ahhh not so much on your social aspect of the game which is nearly none existent and is punishing for those that want to socialize.

1 ReplyPraise you good Sir. And praised be Bungie, the almighty developer, because Destiny is awesome so far. As a former WoW player, I like me some PvE action and some well designed instances. The only strike we had so far is so awesome. All fits perfectly: the gameplay, the mobs, the bosses, the music. It brought me so much memories of those times spent in Azeroth. The only thing I truly miss about the MMOish side of Destiny is a chat, but hey this is not a PC so it would be awkward to write without a keyboard.

Edited by Tbone1967: 7/24/2014 2:34:47 PMTo each their own, but I add my vote for loving this game so much so that I am actually bummed that it ends this weekend even when I planned on replaying TLOU next week which I was totally excited for until I played Destiny for 24 hours over the past 4 days. I can understand people having an issue or two, especially if you have played lots of other shooters and have some preferences that may be missing compared to other games. But to say any one or two of those concerns ruin the complete game seems excessive. The depth of possibilities with this world seems unlimited and while it may start small, I can envision it expanding fourfold over the coming years.

1 ReplyI DO like this game so far, and what ppl are not realizing about beta and pre-release these days is that we are not using a finished product!!! At this point what we are seeing is what is supposed to be bug fixing content, tested stability issues, we SHOULD be expecting glitches, disconnects, crashes, and limited content since 5-10 years ago beta testing was actually done by qualified game designers outside of the dev circles of the games. Now $5 gets an 8 year old access to this integral part of a game's development. I know it's a marketing trick, an effective one...you make your players feel important because being in a "beta" used to mean something, now it's just pre-release access that support doesn't have to answer for the problems. While great for getting those pre-orders, "beta testing" is now a farce, testers used to BE paid to be involved in the development of a game, now WE have to pay to be a part of it. Anyway, I love this game, I have a sense of awe the whole time because to me anyway, I see this pre-release gameplay as the tip of the iceburg, not just to get to the other game areas and see the other enemies, but the fact that this SHOULD be simply a taste of the content we are testing. The Tower we see now, should be but a shadow image of what will be. The weapons we are using now...but mere trinkets compared to what will be. Seriously, I am impressed thus far, so I should be absolutely BLOWN AWAY come release day. Also, I hope they do wipe all characters before release, this is fun and all, but what is the point of release day when you are already lvl 8 and well into the story. Release day should start everyone at the same place, show the fruits of the successful alpha and beta testing tweaks and additions, and reveal a world that will hold us captivated for the next 10 years as promised, not just be a date to fuel the continuation of the blast race to max level or endgame that so many gamers mistakenly think makes them elite or hardcore. I will be exploring every virtual inch of Destiny, Climbing that mountain you see in the distance from the Tower, finding loot chests in the deep recesses. I will not power level, I will not "beat the game" in 36 hours, I will be standing on the highest point on Venus getting mad screenshots of the beautiful vistas.

Yeah, I am sure that all who loved halo will love destiny, not because they are similiar but before destiny the community of halo was asome, they were not fights, not discussions, the forums commun topics wasnt about bad opinions or good opinions, they were abou "what do you like more? elites or spartan and all happy vote, but when destiny come to Playstation and Activision it brings more gamers, some think that destiny will be like CoD! haha, but Bungie all your old community that loves all your games, its out there, so dont think that destiny is horrible, because I am sure that a lot of people stay with you and love destiny. Like me, I loved Halo, halo was the game that brings me to the xbox world and vudeogames world for the first time, then I also played your Maraton duranda I dont remeber how to write it sorry, and when destiny comes out, I will have money prepared to buy it;)

I cant wait to go into Staurns rings, or Jupiter , or mercury! moon, earth, mars and a space station near the sun, yess, all that places were in destiny (well I see it in the grimor cards and concep arta and video, so I think all of them will there in the complete game:) I cant wait

The Beta is very nice, I understand the fact that it is not the final version of the game and it tells a lot that almost everyone I know is playing the Beta and very happy with it.

i love this game, the beta is only making me want more. sure the titan, warlock, and hunter's supers are OP but they're [u]SUPERS[/u] they're suppose to be OP.

I am finding this to be a great experience overall, i've been playing it pretty much for 10+ hours in a row, which says a lot in itself. apart from a few technical issues, this is a damn fine representation of the game, and i can't wait to own the final product in a couple more months. i love the nods to Halo, Mass Effect, Star Wars, the cult actors doing many of the voice overs, and the general smoothness of the gameplay and graphics, the great audio design - it's all top-notch. again, aside of a couple of minor things, it plays and feels like a game ready to go gold after the odd tweak. thanks for letting us try it out early and including us in your final phase of testing before release :) seriously, some of the complaints i've read here today, and the abuse thrown at Bungie is beyond ridiculous, and rather embarrassing. if people can honestly say this is a shitty beta, they should go back in time a little and try out the Battlefield 4 beta - on xbox 360 - they are at opposite ends of the scale. that was atrocious and deserving of a royal lambasting, Destiny, however - for me, anyway, has been nothing but a joy to play so far, minus the odd glitch (like a knight firing energy bolts through a solid cement building at me), or tweaks i'd like to make in terms of inventory having a database to store Postmaster messages, in-game Grimoire cards etc.

Just got on yesterday and leveled up my Hunter to level 8... it was awesome. I expected to enjoy it (I've played all the halo games) but I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. The game play is so genuinely fun that I spent the majority of my time running around in free roam shooting stuff. Being able to jump into the middle of a group of fallen, melee the guys closest to me, embed my throwing knife into one of their sculls, take down the leader with my golden gun, and then pick off the remaining stragglers with my trusty revolver was an amazing experience. Side note: I got an uncommon hand cannon and it rocks. lot of hate for the hand cannon (probably because it might not be as viable for pvp), but it is definitely my favorite weapon in the game so far.

This game isn't perfect. There's a lot of things that it still needs to be amazing, but I am trusting Bungie will make the full game address most of these issues easily.
