TOP 10 THINGS - Bungie MUST FIX in Destiny!

TOP 10 THINGS Bungie MUST FIX in Destiny! Hope DeeJ or one of the other Bungie crew actually read this! 1. Waypoints - When pressing the point button you should be able to set a waypoint that everyone can see, and have it appear on HUD with a range (in meters). These waypoints should also change depending on the object. Waypointing a Fallen, HIve, etc should give a red "ENEMY" waypoint, green "LOOT" for item drops, yellow "CHEST" for chests, purple "VEHICLE" for pikes, interceptors, etc, blue "GHOST" for dead ghosts, and white or grey "WAYPOINT" for everything else such as the ground, a roof, walls, etc. All waypoints should be removable by clicking the waypoint button a second time and not disappear automatically unless 5 minutes pass without response. These may also be useful in PvP with a much quicker half life of around 5 seconds, allowing teams to "tag" important things like enemy snipers, ammo, hiding spots, etc. 2. Increase Freeroam cap to 6 players - After running with a 6 man team in Crucible, sometimes we need a break and want to head to freeroam to run around and chill out. Or maybe one of us found a cool thing and wants to share. Or maybe we all want to partake on a full scale dead ghost/treasure hunt. It sucks to boot 3 of our friends out especially when we have 5 players and 20 mintutes to kill waiting for our 6th man to join us for an event like Iron Banner. 3. Enable Single Player - Many times I was paired with noobs or kids that rushed ahead and ignored chests/loot when going into strikes. Or even worse the kids that were idle or hid from battle, just there to steal exp and rewards. Enable the option to run strikes and set them to solo, invite only, friends only, and public. 4. Enable RANKED and SOCIAL modes, or Disable team splitting - Tired of having my 6 man fireteam split up and forced to fight each other. More often than not when this happens kids sabotage their team to help their friends. At least stop this in Ranked matches. Id prefer not to see it at all, ever. 5. Shared LOOT drops - when an engram, weapon, or consumable drops it should be universal, AT THE VERY LEAST to your fireteam. It should not disappear after pickup, but rather turn translucent so that players can set waypoints on the loot for their friends. 6. Loot Chest Rework - These chests have set respawn locations which is nice, except when they spawn in unreachable places. They should be openable from any angle just by approach rather than the very Zelda-like walk up to the front and manually open. They need longer half lives as they disappear way too fast, so they can be shared with teammates. They need better gear most importantly, scaled to the players currently equipped gear and level. Gear that has stat effects should be all that chests give such as an uncommon rifle with a fast reload perk. And increase the amount of glimmer, even if its random. For example one chest gives 130 while another gives 870. 7. Realtime In-game mini-maps and large maps - Allow pressing a button or two simultaneously to activate maps with realtime data such as player location, vehicles, objectives, waypoints, etc. Many Guardians get lost in Destiny. This need not be the case. Also infinitely more important than a button to "wave hi". 8. Player Names on/under Ships in Load Screens - Bungie... why would we buy ship skins if nobody knows that's our ship? Come on now. 9. Spawn Next To Team after Join In Progress - The worst part of freeroam or accepting an invite to a mission is spawning at the first part of the map and having to travel manually while fighting annoying enemies solo until you reach your team by then they either failed or completed the objective. Please fix this to at least spawn in the same general area or at one of several visible LZs (landing zones). 10. Inventory Rework - first allow players to view all items and gear in a players inventory (not bank, keep that private). If my friend has 4 exotic rifles a legendary shotgun and fusion rifle, 25000 glimmer and 200 ether seeds Id like to see please. Second keep item levels always visible. I hate how it disappears how can I know what to store for my other guardians? My level 8 hunter views a level 6 gun the same as a level 8 yet my level 1 Titan sees their true level. Also this helps when comparing gear with other players. Third show how much glimmer the gear is worth and what youll receive by breaking it down BEFORE you break it down and are sorely disappointed. Also give a warning prompt when trying to dismantle Exotics or Legendries to prevent accidents. Lastly- show a number indicating if you already own the gear and how many. Bungie you made a good game. With these tips it will be a GREAT game. Together we will reclaim Destiny and become Legend. True_Reclaimer Reclaim Destiny Rise. Raid. Reclaim.

  • I agree. Waypoints would help but only in a strike team. Either that or spawning close to each other. But definitely i don't need or want so many different types of waypoints or a live map with all players. So making drops universal is a terrible idea It completely ruins the experience of finding a variety of gear and having individual experiences. Just because you or your friend happened to get a rare drop doesn't mean you should. I've also never come across a loot chest I had to struggle to get to. So not sure what you're talking about there. Last of all. Looking at a person's inventory should only be implemented if it possible to also make it private. The other stuff seemed like good ideas.

  • I think we should have 6 people on a fire team for missions. Idk if anyone else noticed but defeating a Death Walker with just three people is kind of challenging and this is just the beta so imagine it in the real game. I'm not saying make it easy but give us a fighting chance

    •
1. Waypoints
This would be a nice addition considering not everyone uses a mic. But I don't think it needs to be as complex as you make it. Just set one waypoint, it shows up in standard waypoint color and your fireteam can check it out if they want to (even better if they're on mic!).
2. Increase Freeroam cap to 6 players
Yeah
3. Enable Single Player
I think what you're talking about is different from fireteams, right? I sort of agree. Personally, I like to play with friends but I can see why some would like to play solo without bumping into people in the stories/exploration.
4. Enable RANKED and SOCIAL modes, or Disable team splitting
Yes! This is my biggest piece of advice from the Beta. I'm sure they're trying to fix this, though.
5. Shared LOOT drops
I like Bungie's system. If they do make changes to make loot drops shared, it should be optional (be able to turn loot share on or off). You can see the problems that could arise - lazy people and whatnot.
6. Loot Chest Rework
Don't think this needs changing. I especially don't think you should find loot according to your level or gear. Everyone would wait until level cap to open the chests and get an unfair advantage.
7. Realtime In-game mini-maps and large maps
What? No. The lack of maps encourages exploration.
8. Player Names on/under Ships in Load Screens
This would be great.
9. Spawn Next To Team after Join In Progress
Yes
10. Inventory Rework
Lol no. I don't want anyone seeing my inventory and I don't want to see anyone else's.

      • Loot chest rewards are fine as id especially since they are massively exploitable already. Some guy has a route he goes to check out all the loot spawns. Getting that tiny amount of glimmer and perhaps a lower tier item is a good thing. The one suggestion I would have is maybe have a "great chest" that spawns in one of several random locations once a week. There would be one for each planet. Since there is only one a week, it is harder to plan out where it could be... where is it going to spawn. Example, if this great chest had 7 spawn locations. They would be unknown for 7 weeks. A pattern would almost be impossible to learn, therefore its less exploitable.

      • Not too fussed with any apart from number 7. I'd love a map of the area. Ive got used to the locations in the beta but if the maps get bigger I think a map is needed.

      • Would be nice to waypoint coordinates on a map but I guess the emots can work for now. I can agree with the strike team size and the PvP splitting up friends to go against each other.. Which will all already be solved most likely in the full launch. Other then that, I hope the loot stays player specific, I do not want to see afk players in strike getting drops for not playing.

      • These are good suggestions but exploration with six seems a little big. But I agree that single player needs to be an option....too many people spawn and it bothers me while I explore (ie trying to shoot or run me over with sparrow). Also if you don't have playstation plus you can't join people, yet they can still see you and continue to ask you to join their game...

      • I agree! I would really like to play with more the 2 firends. Are there ever going to have a strike that requires more multipule fire teams?

      • 1. agreed 2. agreed 3. agreed 4. Sure 5. long as everyone gets it too that would be kinda cool. 6. I feel like when a chest is opened, everyone on the fireteam should benifit no matter far or close. 7. Not sure why a map wasnt added in an open world game, this is basic stuff. 8. Sure I guess it wouldnt hurt. 9. Good idea 10. No way, stay outta mah stuff!

      • I agree with most things expect the map, tagging, shared loot drop, and the inventory. As far as the map goes it is a good idea, but I would say a player needs to explore a place first and not just automatically know where all the little secret spots are. For the tagging, if you are in a public match that might be too much info. Especially when you are with randoms that will just start tagging everything for fun. Also I think being able to tag an enemy player is kind of cheap. If your that serious about relaying the snipers location to the team just use your mic. The shared loot drop is a cheap way people could easily level up. If some low level players run with higher level players and those players get good loot. Or if you have noobs in a fireteam with high level players who get good loot then those noobs can get a huge leg up. As for the inventory, I think its fine as is. Also there should be no reason you have to look at your friends inventory, it's theirs. If they wanted you to know you would. You kinda have a point on the weapon levels but I don't find it to be all that important. Especially in the example you gave the titan would still have alot of leveling up to do.

I'll have to disagree on 5. 7. and 9. 5. Bungie had made it very clear that the loot you find in the world is what you can see, and not everyone else, including the loot that drops from killed enemies, you and only you can see it, including the chests. However, that doesn't mean the chest will appear for them too but they will get a completely different result. 7. Its a nice idea but as much as I like to agree but you do not need a map, as long the arrow on the radar is pointing which your team is at, your objective, and enemies are, that is all you are going to get. My belief in having no map at all is the have the leisure to explore every nook and cranny on your own, if it were like Borderlands in terms of mapping, it would be too easy to tell there is going to be some secret there. 9. I simply agree but I would like it to happen at a checkpoint or moment of reset upon all team's death. So you will have to wait until they finished a portion and reached a breaking point where the fighting doesn't mean restarting over that segment.

        • I agree with 2,3,4 and 9. I could see 8 being implemented maybe with a hover of the circle cursor. Waypoints would take the fun out of exploring for newer players and should not be public if added. The reason that loot chests are hard to access is because they want you to have a challenge to get to the loot chests, and I believe the loot in them is balanced, but I do agree that an occasional uncommon gear would be nice. I think that the level of items should be visible after reaching that level, but everything should not be exposed to whoever looks at your character, especially your hard earned glimmer.
