The community on this forum is not what I was expecting.
There is so much entitlement among the users here that I feel bad for bungie. Combine that with the constant pissing contest between xbox and playstation and it's really bringing this community down.
Call it beta, call it a demo, call it early access sneek peek.. I don't care what you call it but I have put around 10 hours into this beta so far (just my warlock) and I was able to get some buddies in as well. All for free really, the 5 for my pre order goes towards my final purchase so I don't see what people are bitching about as far as content goes. There is more than enough content here to let you know if this is the game for you.
The only major critiques I do have though are lack of penalization for leaving games early, the damage indicator could use some work and joining/leaving fire teams needs some streamlining. Something I'm interested in as well is whether or not these pvp matches are hosted on dedicated servers or peer hosted. I've noticed some matches I feel like a god with my shotty and just can't be stopped. Then other times there is significant delay between my shot and my kill.
All in all I think bungie did a great job in letting us try a new game that is kinda hard to explain and really needed some hands on experience to understand what bungie was bringing to the table.
TLDR: how about a thank you to bungie for an amazing peak at what we will be able to experience come fall. Instead of bitching bc you ONLY got 10 hours for simply putting a fully refundable 5 dollars to support devs who are looking to break the standard fps mold.
PS: I'd love to start to see some constructive posts. Not "omg bungie this is not enough".

I love the beta, And yes the beta has confirmed the game is my game of choice.. You can't blame people for wanting more though, We are crackfiends, and destiny is our crack. Please Sir.. I want some more... With that being said, the beta has been more than enough to showcase what is on offer and I am impressed. I used to love halo campaign but never could get on with multiplayer so I was abit skeptical.. But I love the crucible and the leveling up system.. I think its fair to say the current shooters are about to be knocked off the top spot. Call of who? Battlewhat? .. Blam-ing Destiny!!

4 RepliesI think the problem is that too many irresponsible parents are buying game consoles and mature rated games for their underage children. Too many whining little brats in game and on the forums. We need to start holding these bad parents responsible. IMHO, you shouldn't be playing these kinds of games online unless you are 18 years or older.

Sorry, that's just how gaming forums like this work now-a-days. You'll always get the worst of the worst because the people actually having fun with the game and have no complaints usually have no reason to come here. Or you get people who are at work and can't play the game, so they come here instead...

And there is plenty of content. I don't see a lot of you with different ships. I have a ship. Go buy a ship.

I enjoy the game. I like it. It's my first Bungie game and wow it feels great. It's sad about the community though. Part of me thinks that the Playstation Invasion causes the unbalance on the forum. The other part of me (the biggest) thinks that everyone should just try to get along with each other and stop being a dick on the internet just because some one doesn't agree with you. That being said. Can't we all just play the game, enjoy it and live in peace?

The only gripe I have is everyone complains of wanting to party up and play and you give out your gamertag or psn id and no one adds you etc. I also don't like that no one on the ps4 is talking is crazy.

1 ReplyAs much as I agree that there's probably a bit too much complaining around these parts, I fail to see how most of this thread is constructive and not just redirecting the flow of insults and complaints to people that 'deserve it'. No problem with the OP, though. I just think this topic is sort of running wild and far wide of the original point. Not saying people shouldn't have a problem with the state of the forums, but the path to fixing it will not be found through blanket generalized insults directed at 'kids', 'nerds', or members of any one particular game's community. By doing that, you suddenly alienate people that identify with any of those categories who are actually great people who care about this game and then YOU become the bad part of the community for them. Some of the humblest and smartest people I've ever met were younger than 18 (kicking all my peer's behinds in Chem courses, but being so nice about it), there's no end to the number of kind and amazing 'nerds' I've met, and heck, even the nicest most down to Earth pastor I've ever met regularly plays Call of Duty. What I'm trying to say here, is I think it's pretty pointless to meet vitriol with vitriol. If we want the community here to be better, we should show it by example.

The entitled attitude on the forums is really nothing new, sadly. People seem to forget that this wouldn't be much of a beta if the entire game was available. They also forget that Bungie is a business. There job is to make money, not cater to everyone's personal wishes.

Yeah, I also dislike when I hear people complaining about trivial things, especially when there's so much to be grateful for. But... I also feel like attacking them / complaining about it might not fix the problem. I'd say just ignore the negativity... Don't react to it. Only respond to the posts you like, and if you do want to speak to the ones you don't like, do it with positivity. Don't bash them, or they'll just get defensive.

I know people are going to comment and say crap to me for this but o well.

Not to mention, that 5 also gets you a red sparrow, Monte carlo, hawkmoon, 3 armor sets, 3 ships, 3 helmets, Vanguard armory and a exclusive strike map and multiplayer map, Not to mention beta access, so DAMM, BUNGIE ARE AWESOME
