Unplayable framerate on the PS4 until full system reboot

After playing for about two hours last night I put the PS4 into standby. When I started the system and Destiny back up this morning the entire game: menus, transition screens, and game play engine all stuttered significantly. Best estimate would put the frame rate below 10 fps. I logged out logged back in and the problem persisted. I closed the Destiny application and re started it; same result. Finally, I did a full system shutdown. Upon starting the PS4 back up and re-entering Destiny the problem resolved. While having framerate problems, the game was unplayable. Controller response was massive delayed. In game actions were incredibly slow. The attached video from the Tower shows the noticeable slowdown of jumping. I wasn't sure if 'share' would capture the issue properly.

  • I noticed that on my system, also. A complete shut down and restart fixed it. Happens after an hour or two of playing. It's not horrible, just sort of like a hiccough once in a while for me.

  • This also happens with other games. Second Son was another game where I got the slowmo session. Complete power off resolved the problem. I feel this is a system software issue more than a game problem. Seems like the GPU doesn't always wake up after standby with full power allocated to it.
