Yeah I Was Right About Forge

About a year ago, I listened to a lot of people whining about Forge. Yeah Forge. I said to hell with Forge and to Hell with forgers. Bungie are brilliant game designers and I don't want their creation cluttered up with amateur hour. That's the way I said it, that's the way I want it. The only possible concession I made was to let forgers have some piece of a moon of Saturn or something, but not Earth, or the Moon or any of the regular maps. Go play griffball in Halo 5, weenies. Now the alpha is over and everybody is breathless about how spectacular Destiny looks. And not a peep about Forge. Good. I told you Destiny needs Forge like the Mona Lisa needs a tongue stud. Now all we need is DeeJ to stick a fork in the argument. Please.

I'm not one for making custom maps or mods for games but there are some truely skilled people out there. If Bungie allow a stripped back version of their engine to create multiplayer maps and community missins chains and free roam environments, I say more power to them. One condition I would add to that though is all maps, missions and free roam have to pass bungie muster, so thier design team have to go over them and approve them. Other games have had great success with these kinds of things. I wouldn't expect a dev tool anytime soon though, possibly 18month to 2 years after launch, about the same time we can expect the second installment.
