Disclaimer; I am not a professional gamer nor a game developer. I have however played since halo 1 pc and have logged plenty of time in the world of shooters. The following was played from the perspective of an awoken warlock So here it goes. Lets go ahead and dive in with the multiplayer. The very first ting I noticed is the game wasn't fast paced in the way I original got from Bungies explanation. Time to kill is crazy short with speed, accuracy and, correct usage of corners being instrumental in staying alive in smaller maps. Time between engages however does feel appropriately long for the relative size of the map and due to the locations of the holding points areas of engagements do become common and slightly predictable compared to straight up slayer. However in larger maps like the moon it really is easy to get caught out and in my opinion to easy. The moon would benefit greatly from more cover on the cave system side opposite from point B. I found that a great tactic was to hold my supercharge until point b, the most exposed on both maps, was being taken, then do a high jet pack jump super toss for what I found to be at least a solid double. The warlocks initial void orb drain is also VERY good at holding doorways for just the extra second of capture time. Another good tactic when being chased is to jump jet pack up immediately after entering an open space through a door and turning around mid air to face the incoming threat. YOU WILL have superior ability to acquire the target. They have to hunt for you in the air, you know they are coming through that door and will be on the ground. Adding a regular special like the drain orb to this tactic is devastating. The radar system takes a bit to get used to from other halo's since it gives a general direction warning and no idea how high or low the opponent is from you. I find a shotgun secondary combo with the warlocks melee hand drain vortex to be an extremely effective cqb kit and also am finding semi automatic longer range weapons to be better even at medium range. The largest problem with the kit is dealing with a titan mid range who has a sub machine-gun and can out tank you. The constant drops of special ammo felt nice but the sparse nature of heavy ammo and it's fixed location left me a bit frustrated. Vehicles are also basically made of paper making the ( I think its called a sparrow ) good only for fast jumps around the outskirts of the more open moon map. Another thing is the only 3 of the classes that really communicates an incoming super well is the hunter. I can tell you i noped out of several situations when I saw the one shot pistol. All in all not bad for an alpha version. I personally can't wait for the full game.
