Microsoft's Games with Gold program will be available for Xbox One in June, while current Xbox Live Gold subscribers will receive an extra free game and additional discounts, head of Xbox Phil Spencer announced today.
Games with Gold is a program that gifts two free games a month to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The Xbox One edition of the program kicks off with Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault. Deals with Gold also launches in June and will save members money on Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome "and a few other surprises." The announcement adds that members will now have "subscription-based access" to these games; this suggests that the service will function more like Sony's PlayStation Plus program.
"In the coming months, we will offer significant savings of up to 50 - 75 percent off certain titles," Spencer wrote. "This program will continue to be available for Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360. And new on Xbox One, we will launch a virtual VIP room exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members where we will feature free games, monthly deals, and other great benefits."
One membership is valid for both the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
In honor of the program's one-year anniversary, Xbox 360 owners can pick up an extra game in June — Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition — in addition to Dark Souls and Charlie Murder.
Glad it's finally coming to Xbox One. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood was suppose to be a interesting game to play.

This is a great example of added value. Hopefully Phil Spencer keeps it up.

Too bad the hard drives tiny and I won't be able to download many games:(
-
Well, I may as well try Spartan Assault when I can.
-
Already have Spartan Assault, so I guess I can try out Max. Inb4 the next free game is The Amazing Spooderman 2
-
So, is this like only a thing for a month? You know, seeing as there's no games for it.
-
The best part is this announcement along with the $399 X1 is it was thought to be part of E3 announcement. They are really gonna bring it all about games at E3. I can't wait.

Edited by Ukimoi: 5/13/2014 9:33:03 PMTwo shit games, they also made it like Playstation Plus which is funny since Xbox fanboys used to shit on Playstation Plus saying "you don't own it" meanwhile they're getting old ass bad games.

New I shouldn't have bought Spartan Assault.
-
Hey I can play Spartan Assault now
-
Damn I already bought halo spartan assault
-
How would G4G even work on XB1 when it has no games?
-
What's Charlie Murder?
-
It's a very good game
-
Microsoft is really making a big push to gain the hearts of the gaming community prior to E3. I'm not complaining though.
-
But.....they couldn't have even tried to compete with the greatness of PS+?

Charlie Murder is amazing, and every Xbox owner should check out Ska Studios. The Dishwasher franchise are my favorite arcade titles I've ever played, and they are very challenging. I hope they announce The Dishwasher 3 :D
