President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso has said he passionately believes that Europe is stronger with the UK as a member.
Speaking at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Mr Barroso acknowledged that the case of the UK may be seen as a "special one"
So as many know David Cameron (Prime minister of the UK) is going to negotiate with the EU to get powers back from Brussels before holding a referendum to leave the EU.
The UK is very important member of the EU and if it leaves the project could fail just like how the League of Nations failed because America refused to join it's ranks.
The history of the United Kingdom has been one of suspicion of the European continent follow centuries of invasions and war, the UK largely left the EU alone and only intervened when the Status Quo was threatened. (Napoleon, WW1, WW2).
Britain's economic policy was of splendid isolation from the continent and to no allow any single power to control all of Europe's resources because that would allow an invasion of the UK by a power with no equal.
Since this policy has been merged with the psykie of the people the EU (Jose Manuel Barroso) feels that the UK should be treated differently by implementing rules that effect nobody else.
A similar thing was done with the Shengan Area (No borders between nations) since the UK argued being an Island nation the channel was our first and last defense, same with Ireland, Malta and Iceland (or any other island nation in the EU).
Do you think this is the right move for the EU? They are desperate for the UK to stay and I think we should but ignorant public opinion could drag out us.

I mean, how much is gonna change if the UK leaves in all actuality? Very little
