When an upset boy called his local police station for help, he had no idea he would make a friend for life.
13-year-old Cameron Simmons called the police station because he was upset after having a fight with his mom. Officer Gaetano Acerra, who responded to the call, gave him some practical advice:
“I said, ‘You have it good, you have a roof over your head,’” said Acerra. “I told him I would try to help him out, and here we are now.”
However, when he brought Simmons home, he noticed that the boy didn’t have a lot of the things that kids should have, such as a bed and a desk.
“My heart went out for him,” said Acerra. “I thought the little things that he needed I could give him, to make him a happier kid.”
A few weeks later, he showed up at Simmons’ house with a truck full of gifts. Because a police officer was willing to step out of his comfort zone, a teen in need has a place to study, somewhere comfortable to sleep and, most importantly, an amazing new role model.
So, where's camnator at now? Interesting enough is that good acts of kindness like this are fulfilled each and everyday by law enforcement. It's a shame that people are so willing to bash these people who risk their lives yet when they do something beyond their duties (again, that's everyday) then not a single word is spoken about it. God bless this man and teen

It's because people can't have their vices they feel the need to bash and hate on people who enforce it. Take the proactive approach and bitch to the crappy legislation we have today.

Edited by cxkxr: 5/10/2014 12:17:13 AMExcept his job has nothing to do with his generousity, really.

Holy Hell... That is awesome. I just can't even put it all into words. That cop just gave up a lot of his probably not that substantial pay just for a poorer family like that and probably changed his life, or at the very least inspired a few people who will read about it. That guy is a, for lack of a better term, awesome.
-
Nice try Methew your obsession is pathetic.

Edited by BerzerkCommando: 5/10/2014 1:01:55 AMI bet that cop got that stuff from the "justified" raids he was on. I wonder how long it took him to wash the blood stains out of the mattress?
-
He sounds like a swell guy.
-
Someone posted this yesterday... But either way good on the cop.

im sure that the "child" was a homosexual. dirty pig cop jackbooted thug enablers.

That reminds me of when my mom was arrested for "library theft", which wasn't even a legitimate crime on Missouri. I called the police after she didn't come home that night and found out she was arrested and in jail. The Sheriff got involved and she was really sympathetic. She helped us out a bit by contacting my grandmother and telling her the situation. Thanks to her, my mom got out that same day. The charges were later dropped when my mom pointed out library theft wasn't a crime, and that she didn't even steal any books.
-
When my mother was throwing knives at me the cops called me a baby and told me to deal with it.

Go back to shit posting so you can get more attention.

I muted muted Camnator a long time ago, I have no idea where he is.
-
Everything has it's goods and bads.
-
Camnator will probably try to spin this like the cop is some pedo or something.

Edited by PhillyG501: 5/10/2014 1:29:01 PMWith all the terrible things I've heard cops do recently, it's pretty understandable that people would bash them. A few good deeds can't make up for how many more bad ones are committed and being committed. Though, it's nice to here about this. I hope we can get more cops like this guy.
-
This would not compute with Camnator. All cops are bad cops. This guy was probably doing it out of selfish ambition.
-
Studying criminology has taught me that cops "have to be bad" sometimes for good reason. In this case, the boy is very fortunate.
-
I love how this goes mostly unnoticed
-
You always here the bad ones...it sells more newspapers
-
I posted this exact same story yesterday and all I got was four of Camnator's butt buddies circle jerking in my thread with their retarded catchphrases.

The thing is, acts of kindness (generally) don't make headlines -- the screw-ups do, giving a skewed perception of law enforcement for many.
-
That's actually pretty cool. After all the terrible police brutality incidents it's nice to know that there's still great cops in this world
