Why is Heartgold and Soulsilver not on the list? Heartgold is my favorite. Second favorite is Red, so I voted for that.
-
Without even voting I can tell that people are going to pick Gen 3 or one most likely over time, which relies on nostalgia and fond memories of playing both generations. *votes* So Gen 2 is currently winning, which is what I voted for. Honestly though, I think Generation 2 was the best, we've gotten remakes of Gen 1 and 2 already, and Heart Gold and Soul Silver were two of the greatest games in the series that I'd ever played. Those were a step along the right path, but I can't believe you didn't put "Other" in with 7 poll options, Colosseum and the earlier N64 games like Stadium and such were great games, Pokemon Snap as well if you wanted a different take on the series, so you missed out on a more accurate poll with not including an option like that. In the end, I believe the best game should be determined by a few things: - Little to no issues from the start of the game - Great if not excellent graphics for what the system it's on can handle - Diversity in content and freedom to do what you want in an order that you want - Hours worth of content that doesn't feel like a grind or repeated snorefest - *insert other examples here* If what we've had already is what we have to choose from, then I would say Generation 2 or Generation 4 would be the area that the best handheld Pokemon game could come from.

Silver! Man I remember how cool it was to turn acorns into poke balls and smothering honey on trees and using headbutt to capture pokemon. Great memories back in the day! Not to mention the day and night cycles and red gyarados!

This site already has a pokemon group for people who want to participate in this stuff. Not like you'll see this though since you called me a troll and muted me for saying that bad behavior isn't exclusive to the Xbox community. For anyone who's interested in joining a Pokemon group that isn't run by a juvenile fanboy that creates hordes of alts to follow his main that one is available.

RSE was the best IMO, but I grew up with RGYB...
-
It was Crystal for me. It's essentially two games in one, less popular compared to Gold and Silver, and wasn't too simple or too complicated.
-
Gen 2 Master Race!
-
RED AND BLUE
-
For me its a tie between red/blue/yellow and gold/silver/crystal Red and blue i will always love as they were the first games i played ever. I still have my red and blue and a game boy. Gold and silver i love because they had the best pokemon besides the originals, brought in two new types that balanced the game better (dark being able to stomp psychic so people couldn't hide behind a lv100 mewtwo), and the fact that you can explore kanto after and see the changes in the time between r/b an g/s.

Pokemon Colosseum.
-
My favorite has always been Crystal.
-
Soul silver master race
-
Gold, Silver, Crystal, and the remakes are by far the best point in the series. The game was massive and felt like a true adventure when you got to travel between two regions. Especially with GSC's connectivity to RGBY and Pokemon Stadium 2, that generation stands out as the point in the series that I spent the most time on as a child. Also, that final fight with Red was so epic.

Someone with X or Y; battle me.
-
X and Y are great, refined gameplay, new elements, customization, largest dex.
-
X and Y, easily.
-
Gold and silver generations . There was so much to do and you got a sense of believing each town's culture and history.
-
and yea maybe you can like the post, give a friend a follow eh?
Typical COTU thread xD
-
I think Soul Silver is the best Pokémon game I've ever played, though Crystal will always be my favorite because it was my first.
-
Silver Version, easily.
-
Funny that so many people take interest in the topic at hand, AFTER i delete the group because of inactivity.
-
It's a tie between crystal and emerald me honestly.
-
Ehhh, I'm torn. My favorite Pokemon in Gen 2, whereas my favorite game is Gen 3.
-
Box, obviously.
-
Always gonna vote for Pokémon Red.
