Almost half of all Americans believe that humans were specially created in their present form by God at some point in the past 10,000 years or so. Over three-quarters of Americans believe that God was involved in the origin and development of humans, one way or another. Only 15% of Americans accept that humans evolved naturally, without any supernatural or divine intervention.
Come on guys catch up.

Edited by Sierra-Noble: 12/11/2013 4:59:32 AMCatch up with what? The tear down and degeneration of an entire planet?? I'm Christian and believe the earth is around 10k years old, that's what I choose to believe. Edit: Yes bring the hate, I'm here all night you sorry punks. Why don't you go make up some original ideas and stop marching to the drum.
-
Half of them probably think Jesus is white too.
-
The real news is that Jesus was white (according to FOX), and no-one on the panel batted an eyelash over the statement that a man born in the middle east is obviously a white guy
-
I'm not saying it was supernatural intervention. that's ridiculous. I'm saying it was extra terrestrials.
-
F*cl those people! It's obviously 5000 years old. Praise Jesus!
-
I think it's silly that they believe the Earth was created 10000 years ago when evidence shows a total different story. Back in school I used to debate with our reverend about this matter a lot. Basically he believed that the Earth was created in 7 metaphorical days, where one day of creation might represent a hundred million years - this always made more sense to me.
-
This isn't true.
atheism.about.com
this seems like a completely unbiased site with entirely verifiable information that can in no way be refuted
i find it so fascinating that atheists will jump on board with information that supports their side without actually looking into the credibility of this information and on a side note; pollsters can make the question in a way to support what ever they want, which is how you get polls that say 60% of Americans support decision A while an entirely different poll says 75% of americans support decision B. in short, i don't trust any poll
>2013 >Not being dedotated to worshipping our lord and saviour superkai64

Lonepaul was there when God created the earth, the universe, and everything. He knows 10,000 years old is incorrect.
-
I must've missed the verse in the bible that gives an exact date. To those saying the source is unreliable, it's a Gallup poll that uses standard, unbiased methods.
-
You don't know. No one does. For all we know Earth could've been created 5 minutes ago complete with our memories etc. I wouldn't say it was God or a divine being but it's not my place to say how, when, and by what we were created in our present form. People tend to forget that "I don't know" is the best answer sometimes.
-
Well they do have a right to believe if they want to. I don't have any tie to religion myself but one thing I do believe is that you can't force people into "getting with the program". So imagine that you live on your own, you have a shitty job, and your girlfriend just dumped you. What do you have left when you break down and cry? Some people find religion and it helps them through the hard times. There are all sorts of reasons for people to believe and they have every right to.

>unbiased opinion from unbiased sources. >lonepaul Pick one
-
... The earth is only 2013 years old... ... Silly Americans.
-
You'd think Pauly boy was part of Al Qaeda or something.
-
What if I believe we are here because of Aliens and not gods?
-
I wonder what atheist's believe what happen after death.
-
"only 15% americans accept the scientific method and fact, despite the fact that they accept how science works when it comes to medicines and technology"
-
it's good to know i'm one of the 15% of americans that aren't complete imbeciles
-
The article say half of young creationists. Not half of Americans.
-
Why even compare creationists and evolutionists? Who cares what you believe?
-
Oh, lonepaul... no wonder you're alone.
-
DAE Hate god? lik dis if u cry everytime
-
And to think, WE are the world leaders. The 2006/7 crash that effected the whole world? Yeah, too many of us couldn't do the math of our mortgage being less than our take home pay. and you all are stuck on the bus with us at the wheel

Edited by abba61: 12/11/2013 6:42:29 PMIn my opinion I feel that evolution theory MAKES more sense, because there SEEMS to be more evidence toward that fact. But I am open to more information
