So in addition to a possible RROD fiasco people can't even download the patch that enables them to use 75% of the console they paid for. You'd think Sony would have put more effort into this launch this since their entire company is kind of riding on this right now.
This could very well be another case of the bad news bears my sonybros.
-
PSN is down, you mean they can't download the update what lets them do damn near anything? This is a pretty bad console launch.
-
To be fair, people should have expected this. My friend downloaded the patch onto a USB drive earlier this week so that he wouldn't have to go through all of this crap.
-
Hue hue hue Classic Sony.
-
I expected PSN to have stability issues today. This is why I downloaded the update via usb flash so I dont need to even worry. Sucks though since I have like 10 redeem codes to enter for various things.
-
Well that explains this.
-
We were not warned. This is why I'm mad. /sarcasm
-
I'd imagine it will be somewhat similar when the xbox one is launched
-
Lol, and I thought the Wii U had a bad launch.
-
"I didn't expect that!" --said no one.
-
...the ps4 is likely going to outsell the xbone. Please just chill out and deal with it. It's really not a big deal. I promise you that it has no affect on your life.
-
You can go online and download the patch to a USB.... I already have the patch on one.

Edited by Xmark120: 11/15/2013 5:34:45 PMThe PSN on the PS3 is online, though?
-
That's pretty bad, but it's not surprising that a big launch causes server issues. BF4 had them and that had a much smaller player count than the number of people turning their playstations on. What matters more is how the company handles it afterwards and hopefully sony are able to do a better job than Rockstar. Although that's not difficult to top...
-
This is why waiting till the next year is better :D
-
Give it some time. The problems will be sorted out eventually man.
-
I can still use my Playstation 3 right?
-
I'm not sure I get all of these reports about PSN issues. Two of my buddies have been playing non stop (pretty much) since midnight. They say they haven't seen any issues with PSN.
-
I've said it for months. I've said it at least since June. The number one reason I stick with Xbox is because of Live. It's something they've actively worked at and made stronger. Can't wait to see the X1 release.
-
I like how MS put up an image saying ´Congratulations on the launch, Sony´ lol

Edited by Toa Axis: 11/15/2013 9:03:05 PMChill. It's probably because everyone is hammering the servers, this sort of thing happens a lot. I can't remember any high-profile launch in recent memory that went of without a hitch.
-
Hey, guys, remember back when the 360 launched, and over half of the consoles were kinda -blam!-ed up? There was that open letter from Peter Moore and all that shit? Yeah, this shit happens. Stop trying to use it as fodder for another console war. The last console war didn't kill enough fan boys on either side.
-
For what? The PS4 or the PS3?
-
I think this is funny, just because all the PS fans were laughing at The Xbox one and now they can't even get the so called great gaming machine to work.
-
HAHA! SERVER LISTS, BABY!!! I bet I'll get online with my 300,000 SERVERS!
-
Edited by Egerspurge: 11/16/2013 3:20:02 AMThe weird thing is that I downloaded the patch just fine but everything else network related doesn't work.
-
Looks like it's back up. At least for now.
