As far as I can tell, we can filter forum posts to limit only to my followed tags, but not only to topics with activity by the users we follow. Instead, you need to click on each individual user icon in the 7th Column dropdown and check their feeds just to stay up to date with what they're up to.
It's great that I can follow them now, don't get me wrong but seems a needlessly cumbersome way to do it. If it were simply another option in the left sidebar, Followed Users with a subcategory All My Peeps it would really enrich the forum culture.
Right now the setup discourages following more people because it entails actively doing something like e-stalking them. I have to check the activity users I follow and users I've never seen before essentially the same way: click their avatar to go to their personal activity feed; only difference is I've "bookmarked" the former. Doesn't really seem like "following", more like an "e-stalk later" shit list. And while we're on that topic, it seems odd that I can have notifications of what people on my PSN and XBL friends are doing, but not a way to share and show when I or the users I follow last logged in or last posted anything in the drop-down, not buried in their personal activity feeds.
Am I missing something?
If I'm not, why is actual following, more like my followed twits and facebook/g+ friend activity, not a thing yet? In the works?
