Fire Team Exclusive Public Events

How would you feel about the following: You are in Destiny with your squad made up of 2 Warlocks, 2 Hunters and 2 Titans. and a Public event comes up. The Public Event is made up of 3 smaller events (objectives) that each specific class needs to complete in a specific time-frame. Just to give you an example: Say that Fallen have placed 3 different bombs in different locations and have specific defenses for the 3 classes. Therefore the Warlocks must take down "A", Hunters take down "B" and Titans need to take down "C". When all the objectives are completed then the Public Event finishes with specific loot for each class. Opinions please. Edit: After seeing the replies I am changing the original idea from specific classes to sub fire-teams if you will. You are in with 6 other friends and you get split up into 3 other teams to accomplish the objectives.

Reminds me a bit of Halo Reach's invasion. You're essentially having 3 phases but forcing combined fire-teams to coordinate and taken down the greater foe as a whole. I personally hope that we'll be seeing large scale fire-team participation and I wouldn't be surprised if there were exclusive events set up on certain days (holidays) throughout the year. Then people can share their stories online. I think your idea could use more definition. It's very vague and it's hard to say yes/no when we have no context and none of us have played Destiny. But I feel that Bungie will be addressing all kinds of different public events, maybe even ones that don't always mean "killing the bad guys" - IE: Puzzles, riddles, minigames, races etc.

  • those type of ideas are cool but it would mean that bungie is going back on their words. in particular them saying a person can play which way they want to play... if they want to be a lone wolf they can... if they want to play with friends they can... they have total freedom to choose which they want to be.. i don't know if bungie is willing to take the risk of pissing off one group of people unless they somehow work something out or something.... sounds interesting nevertheless..

  • I feel it would be a betrayal of bungie's promise that at no time will you regret your choice of class . having no hunters would mean you fail, having no titans means you fail , and no warlocks means you fail. anyway you slice it you fail and are punished for not adhering to an unspoken rule of having one of each in a team.

    • Changed the idea a little bit to have the fireteams as the main point of the split instead of the classes.

    • I like the idea but i agree with what was said below. What would happen if you have no players of a certain class in your fireteam/squad?

    • Sounds cool but what if your fire team is all one class? and for whatever reason at the time of the event even with multiple fire teams joining one entire class does not participate, what if 20 titans and 4 hunters show up? would that be instant fail just because you didn't have the right players?

    • I wouldn't mind having this in the game every once in awhile, it would help mix things up every now and again.

    • Well, fireteams will be limited to 3 people anyway... so, not really. Plus I don't want to have to split up from my team even if it were bigger.
