I've figured out how to straighten out crime in America. No more prison sentences lasting for 15 to 20 years or any of that bull crap. It's not necessary. Anyone who gets put on death row gets immediate execution. Money saved there is amazing. People who get a sentence longer than 5 years gets citizenship revoked and shipped off to an isolated community outside of the United States, location to be determined. All the prison guards that are put out of work due to decreased staffing needs will be the first ones offered a job as oversight in this new community and their job will be as simple as making sure no one escapes. What happens inside the community isn't their problem, they just kill anyone trying to escape. Of course, our current punishments for criminals will have to change so that you don't get someone busted for tax evasion in the community, but again, that will be looked into by professionals in that field. Finally, the supplies and everything for the people there will be based on work they do. Not stupid stuff, real work that helps out the US, like cheap manufacturing and the such. Maybe even mine work. Sure, it's harsh, but I bet people would clean up their act. Oh, and just to make sure everyone is clear, I know this wouldn't work for a variety of reasons, I just want to see everyone's take on it.
