I don't understand why 2+2=10 in base 4 (portal joke)
4^2 + 4 ^2 = 4^x
32 = 4^x
ln32=ln(4^x)
ln32=xln4
x = ln32/ln4
x= 2.5

In base 4 you only use the numbers 0,1,2, and 3. 1 (in base 4) = 1 (in base 10) 2 (in base 4) = 2 (in base 10) 3 (in base 4) = 3 (in base 10) [b]10 (in base 4) = 4 (in base 10)[/b] 11 (in base 4) = 5 (in base 10) So in base 4: 2 + 2 = 10

2 RepliesBase 4 doesn't just mean that. Just count it, 1, 2, 3, 10 11, 12, 13, 20 21, 22, 23, 30 Also, you're using natural logs wrongly. last but one line = ln(32/4) not ln32/ln4
