Bungie should have stopped after Reach, gone ahead with Destiny, and then continued the Halo story with 5 new games 30-50 years from now.
I would have payed unanimous sums of money for games like that, but no, 343 took a shit on it, so I won't even give them half the retail price anymore.

Edited by Egerspurge: 7/4/2013 6:43:39 AMWhatever happened to "Finish the fight?" Should've ended at three before commander buttface came along.

i find it so funny that people just like to talk at this point. first "they should have stopped at halo 2" then 3, now reach. If you honestly say they should have picked up the halo story another 30 years later then i know for a fact you aren't aware of how much depth halo already has. Bungie already made it clear that they were going to expand on halo 3 (regardless of what people think) and had their relationship with microsoft not degrade maybe even further. But in the end they would have moved on in sake of this "world domination" crap. Halo has a deep story which again regardless of what a few angry people think needs to be continued in some constant and substantial format. 343I fully understands this in while acknowledging that halo needs to expand beyond FPS games based on chief and books. the start might be a little shaky (like most) but i seriously think we have our generations starwars.

Ended with Halo 3.

What if Microsoft let Bungie take a break for a few years and make Destiny while also making new Halo games simultaneously? That way we wouldn't have a milked franchise. Valve does this. 2007: Halo 3 2011: Destiny 2013: Halo 4 (Bungie) Or something like that.

I think Halo 5 will be a lot better. I did like Halo 4 but it wasn't great. Halo: CE was a good game but once Bungie had more experience they made Halo 2 which, in my opinion, is the best Halo game. Maybe the same kind of thing will happen with 343.
30-50 years from now
Dude, wtf.
-
Bungie left because their agreement with microsoft ended and thats why they are working with activision and gave up the halo title to 343
-
What if bungie just didn't want do to more halo totles?
-
I would say the stop should have came after 3
-
343i never took a shit on Halo. Halo has always been about taking the most popular aspects of current shooters, mixing them together and adding Halo to it. Halo 4 is just a bit more of a leap compared to the transition between other Halos.
-
I agree. End with class, then come back down the line when people want it again. Kinda sad to just beat a series to death.
-
End at 3, no novels, no mini series, no comics, no toys, no TV show, no remakes.
-
If you really think 343 shit on Halo you haven't played many games with bad sequels.
-
343 had a lot if pressure after bungie let it go. 343i didn't "shit" on halo. For halo to survive it has to adapt and evolve in a new age of gaming and halo always has.
-
It was kinda hard for Bungie to stop making Halo games when they had a contract with Microsoft for a set number of Halo games. Also, Microsoft is the company that owns Halo and controls where it goes. Imo, I'm glad the Halo story continued. 343i just needs to correct their mistakes (in multiplayer) with Halo 5.
-
Bungie should have never made Reach or ODST and just handed it over to 343.
-
343 did fine. We all knew halo was going into new hands but unsteady of completely overhauling it and playing around with it, they stuck to the basics and did some "sanding" I guess you'd call it. I'm personally interested in how 343 takes this.

Edited by DEZARATH: 5/30/2013 5:17:49 PMI really don't care anymore and I really need to start living by that statement. Lol
-
I think that Bungie should have held 343i's hand through the first game.
-
-Umm...They did stop after Reach. -No because that would have meant for them to stay with Microsoft, that's why they left Halo behind.... -I do agree with you about 343's work.
