Noob, Newbie, N00b, and any other variants on the word newb are hereby banned from use on this forum. Any user who violates this rule will be put to death.
How are we supposed to keep the new people in check? I hereby propose we vote on this issue. People who are labeld noobs generally deserve the title. Maybe a system where people who have been here for a year can label people, and when three labels are made, the title sticks? LOL! That would be great!

Who made u boss. Geez man take it easy.
-
then how the hell do you get a lable and how do i not get one
-
Newb is a term of respect. If you're new, and you're on good terms, you're a newbie, new person, or newb for short.

That would be great!
No that would be horrible. If three idiots have been here for a year and are good friends, they can label anybody who flames them for being trolls. Noob is such a stupid word anyway. It makes you sound like such a little kid. What's wrong with troll for the people who deserve it, and "Newcomer" for people who are just plain new? If you can start calling the trolls noobs, then people will start calling all newcomers noobs, and that's not very nice, and it lowers the standard of the whole forum. See what I'm saying?
-
then what are people tha have been here for more than a year called
-
A "regular".

-
Ohh The Rip Saw, you card. Would your system be based off of the amount of posts you have racked up? =P Edit: The word amount has given me trouble since 3rd grade. [Edited on 4/15/2004 8:57:31 AM]

Most people don't even realize that n00b is not the same as newb... it was made a long time ago to replace LLama (which were given to people that use hacks/bug exploits/ingame cheats to win)... Speaking of which, you might as well ban Llama as well, since anyone here that played FPS in the old days would just call people that instead of n00b... noob doesn't mean anything, you use 0's, not lower cased o's... Newb = respected begginer, some one that is willing to learn how to play and get better... I vote yes though, I don't want to see that crap being used... [Edited on 4/15/2004 9:00:41 AM]

o thanks when do we get to be regular and is there a faster way
-
OK seriously guys, we are talkin bout a frikin word "NOOB". People who are new deserve to be called newbs newbie etc. Its kinda like a intitiation if you will. When they get good enough, they are no longer called noobs. If they are goin to cry about somebody calling them a newb (WHAT IS THE WORLD COMIN TO??) then let them cry. my 2 cents.
-
Sounds like labeling people geeks, nerds, jocks or whatever you americans do in high school, eveyone should be respected for what they can do personaly not what their label says they can do. People believe it or not are unique as proven by the discovery of DNA
Posted by: Forrgoten o thanks when do we get to be regular and is there a faster way
Get a high post count... /devil's advocate
-
I definantly dont think it should be based off the amount of post you have. Many people post a lot but it doesnt mean much, just that they like talking ( i am not saying this applies to everyone).
-
i was not complaneing just wanting to know
-
they shouldnt be caled anything... no one should be called anything everyone should just be the same
-
If you agreed to use Bungie's forums you should follow thier rules without question.
Posted by: Forrgoten o thanks when do we get to be regular and is there a faster way
There is no, faster way. Time. Time. Time. ;-)

Ok i'm a Noob or what ever you call it, but who gives a F*** about that if people are so imature they have to put people down on the net then there little kids, i mean ya if your messin with a freind or some thin ok but im mean really Grow Up.
-
i herad that if you have a high post count you will get flamed
-
If you post spam, just to raise your post count, you get flamed. If anyone here has 1000 posts allready, then there's a problem.
-
ok thanks and what is flammed
-
i thought the point of this site was to bring halo fans together, as long as they are willing. now your going to try to exclude people because they are new, how will we grow if we don't let new people particapate.
-
I'll be happy to answer that question. I need to make up for being an ass for the past few days anyway. ;-) Flamed is when someone verbally attacks another. Flames are not the right thing to do- you should remain calm, and argue your point out instead. Most of the time a flame is just something like "YOU SUCK", "GO TO HELL".

thanks for the advice anymore useful advice for me that would be good [Edited on 4/15/2004 9:24:39 AM]

Calling someone a noob is not nesessarily a put down. New people are new. They ask stupid questions that have been asked a million times. I would never tell someone they're a noob and then not answer their question. I'm fricking staff at Newb World (I had nothing to do with the name) so I think I'm a little more patient than most people here. I almost never flame and am one of the few people who responds to trolls in a way that doesn't provoke them further. So just back off man! Just, just back off! Wahhhhhh! >:0 Note to self: Don't post anything someone could disagree with if I'm going to be away from the site for more than ten minutes. Bad idea. :) [Edited on 4/15/2004 10:59:47 AM]
