Ideas Galore! Space Travel, Homes, Guilds, Customization, and More!

I've been brain storming ideas as far as cosmetic as well as just pleasurable features that COULD be added to Destiny. Now, I'm not that big on tech, so I couldn't tell you which of these features would burn out a Xbox 360 or a PS3 (I am guessing they have to base everything but possibly lighting and graphics on the PS3 and 360's hardware.), but I'll at least put out these ideas for criticism. Note that much of these have came from either rumors I heard or specifically from the very limited MMO's I've played throughout my life. 1. More Realistic Space Travel and Exploration: What I mean by this would simply be getting onto your ship and literally manually flying out or into the atmosphere of a planet instead of having a loading screen pushed onto you every time you want to enter or leave a planet on your ship. On top of this, maybe an implementation of the ability to land anywhere on the planet's surface or even just fly around the planet and hover over a spot to take a 'rest'. 2. Homes, Cities, or Space Ship Luxury Maybe have your own little town to create to expand the Human population among other places. Obviously it would make more sense (With this being a story about a guardian of the last city on Earth) to have these cities possible just be camp sites, but again, this is just brain storming. As far as the Space Ship Luxury goes, I mean the form of just being able to move around in your ship if it's large enough. Even possibly being able to store items in the ship you have found and want to keep. For the Ship Luxuries, I'm looking towards something like Star Wars Galaxies was. 3. Guilds, Groups, or However Else You'd Describe it. Just groups in which whenever possible, these guilds can play on the same server as you and do the basics of having a guild around. 4. Customization Galore! Weapons/Armor: The ability to collect and use multiple weapons that can be branded with specific colors, names, or even Symbols to match a Guild or even your personal preference. Upgrading: Looking to a system like Skyrim where a level of a specific skill and a resource is needed for an upgrade on damage of weapon or protection of armor obviously with a cap so you're not as over powered as you can be in Skyrim. 5. Multiple Characters + Creative Classes/Side Builds Multiple Characters: Just the idea to support the Creative Classes idea where you're not always a brute protector of the last city. Or possibly so you can try out more than one type of class. Creative Classes: Inferior to the Side Builds idea as it doesn't fit your character's role in Destiny. Basically where some classes do Crafting jobs or Animal Hunting jobs aside from the main objective to make money that could then be shared between characters on the same account or sold to other players. Side Builds: Again, looking to Skyrim. In Skyrim you have the ability to craft weapons and armor, but I look to expand this as Star Wars Galaxies does where you can not only Upgrade and create weapons and armor, but also hunt animals for parts (Meat, bones, ect; This IS a Skyrim feature, not really a SWG one.) or hunt them to make them pets (These guys would have their own leveling system) or mounts. In this system, each different class would have a choice between these side tasks, you can't do all, only one. I have the specific Specializations below: 1. Weapons Master: This Side Build/Class would create weapons either by player request or their own in order to combat the aliens that threaten the Human Race. The higher their level, the stronger their finished product would be, and the stronger they can make an already built weapon. 2. Armor Smith: Makes the armor and can upgrade or create better armor (As armor will be specific for each class.) dependent on their skill level. 3. Beast Handler: The Beast Handler can find any of the available beasts on any planet and tame them (Doesn't matter the method, that's dependent on Bungie's thoughts.) and bring them back for sale as a pet or a mountable beast. These beasts can die whether they are a mount or a pet, but obviously the higher their level, the harder they are to kill. 4. Vehicle/Ship Engineer: Someone who collects and assembles the resources needed to make a Mechanical Vehicle or Ship and sells it for a price to other players. 6. Banks, Corrals (For mounts), and Docks/Garages: Banks: This will hold your weapons, armor, and smaller items that you just can't carry on you at the moment, can't fit in your personal home/ship, but really want to keep. This will cost a small fee (In-game money) to buy a bank, nothing a half hour of playing once settled in can't pay for. Corrals: This will house all of your mounts you just can't have with you at the moment. Will be a bit of a bigger fee than Banks, but still nothing to worry about. Docks: Stores your ship(s) when you're not using them. This will be a tiny fee, even smaller than a Bank fee as you pay it ever time you want to land your personal ship on a planet. Garage: Holds your land vehicles you just can't hold onto but need a safe place for. This could go either with a constant fee every time you store a vehicle, or could be a one time thing. Okay, so tell me what you think. Obviously some, most, or maybe even all are just too overboard on a Console or not a good idea for this game, but I thought I'd at least try and see what the community thinks. Thanks for reading!

 • I know this may sound stupid, but what about if you could send your ghost out of your palm to spot enemies, which then temporarily appear on the screen highlighted, or the possibility that you can't request a sparrow or go to orbit whilr this happens

 • I enjoy the idea of being able to fully customize your weapons and armor with emblems from your guild, allowing you to see others and identify them easily out in the wild and in the city the concept of having open space would be amazing, but im almost certain they are already pushing the systems to the max, and the open space might not be possible :/ I would not mind fees for banks and docks or garages if its easy to find money, but if its a constant thing, it might be too difficult, and i think it would be great to be able to share these places with friends by simply allowing them to pitch in to the fee, allowing you to share a garage and the vehicles in it

The main reason I find this idea so awesome is because it provides the player with a true sense of the scale of the world / universe they are playing in. This scale is diminished or lost entirely when games lean heavily on zones and loading screens. I also really like the idea of being able to take your space ship anywhere, though I do think that being able to land yourself anywhere you wanted to could be problematic. If you could land anywhere at all than you would be able to bypass all sorts of challenges and content. For this reason I think you'd probably need ports at set locations to land at. Despite this, I still think it would be awesome to be able to fly over anywhere you want in order to get a glimpse of the worlds and the things that you would encounter in the future. I don't know if anything like this is even a remote possibility in Bungie's plan, but it's still interesting to discuss.
