Star Wars Battlefront 3 footage (LucasArts version)
Basically, before LucasArts got shut down, they were working on three projects, First Assault, 1313, and something else that was simply known as "Version Two". The footage in the link is from Version Two, and it looked very Battlefront-y, and it is not First Assault, as that didn't have vehicles.
It looked really good too :(

Now I'm convinced not only have they done the deed, but that they were actually [I]trying[/I] too and, apparently, [i] don't like making money.[/i] I mean for God's sakes how much more can you possibly -blam!- Star Wars' gaming future up? I'm legitimately worried, and I never get worried about anything! They were sitting on 3 IP's that would each alone allowed them to buy a small country and they decide to throw all the hard work and money that had already gone into those titles down the toilet because Disney can't get a -blam!-ing clue that gaming is a bigger industry than movies these days. Even on the cold calculated basis of making money, void of emotional investment, they were practically suicidal not to release those games because now all they've got is every Star Wars fan in existence right pissed off. And why should they not be? All Disney have proven they know how to do is hit the delete buttons on all of their Star Wars IP's that aren't Episode VII. In less than half a damn year Disney has single handedly smothered every opportunity for Star Wars to grow, with the biggest offender being 1313, which would have been the first M rated Star Wars games made exclusively for adults, a demographic often turned away from the franchise because it's always been kid-friendly. Well now Disney's at the helm and we can sure as shit be certain of one thing: they ain't releasing no M rated games any time soon.

Dang, I liked Battlefront and its sequel. The gameplay didn't look exactly like my kind of game, but it looked good and seemed close to done. I really dislike Disney; I didn't mind it until it actively started buying things I was a fan of. Like Star Wars. Sigh.

I more disappointed that Star Wars 1313 got cancelled. The gameplay looked so good. It makes no sense why they would cancel a game that's practically finished. They would have made millions from it.

All I can think of is the "Imperial March" song playing and Mickey Mouse with a big cloak coming out of the shuttle into the Death Star. Get your paws off of us you damn dirty Disney!

I just don't know how to react to this. I and many many other people have been waiting years, almost a decade, for Battlefront III. Then when they start making it, and get so very good from what Gameplay shows, Disney decides they want to look at violence in their video games because of Newtown. Then they hit the chopping block. Screw you Disney, truly screw you. You ruined the hearts of many gamers and Star Wars fans.

Aw man. They weren't lying when they said First Assault was the prelude to "Version Two." Hope isn't lost yet. I believe a company can buy the rights from Disney to continue making it.

This is even more upsetting than when M$ stopped supporting AOE:O . I seriously cannot fathom why Disney would do this, do they not have a PR team that realised there was mass appeal for these games?

I keep defending Disney when it comes to Star Wars, saying that out of all the new content they'll likely create we're bound to get something good! I fear that I'm already eating my own words.

Disney is competant at delivering movies, but completely fails with video games. If movie studios were smart they'd get into game publishing; Warner Bros did so years ago, and have since brought us the Arkham games.
