What is the coolest thing about Nanotechnology?
When do you predict we will have a huge breakthrough?
What is your opinion on the subject?
How should the technology be used?
Feel free to answer all or one.

I'm hoping to get into Nanotech engineering if I can get my GPA high enough... The particular lab I am applying for has some awesome projects in the works, although I wouldn't expect any huge breakthroughs anytime soon (as far as eternal life goes!). However some of the cool stuff they are working on includes: - Materials that change density when given proper stimulation; sort of like batman's cape in batman begins... pass a current through regular looking cloth and it turns rigid - Using nanotechnology to rapidly (and cheaply), create man-made diamonds for use in computers to replace current transistors - Integrating nanotechnology into regular industry, therefore improving the accuracy of current manufacturing methods I know there are more, but that is currently all I know myself. Sounds cool, but we have only just seen the tip of the iceberg, so it should be at least several years before the first nano-related product comes out. [Edited on 7/4/2005]
