Halo 2 Worldwide Tournament : USA

The Halo 2 Worldwide Tournament is a global event spanning all 24 regions where Xbox Live is offered. Each regional champion will clash in a worldwide showdown for the crown of World's Best Halo 2 Player as well as a bounty of cool prizes. The U.S. qualifier portion is set to begin next week. Player who are interested in competing should hustle and get registered ASAP. Anyone 18 and over can register by either visiting a Gamestop retail store or stopping by www.GameStopStores.com. Time is ticking so hurry up and get signed up if you want a shot at the title. What's at stake? Well, besides the biggest of all bragging rights (only ONE person can ever claim they are THE Halo 2 World Champion), there are plenty of prizes up for grabs. Regional winners will receive a limited edition half-size Master Chief statue, a personalized Xbox Live Halo 2 Championship sweatshirt, a plaque, a Samsung Camcorder AND $500 in cash. WOW. The overall global champion will aslo receive a 50' Samsung Flat Screen DLP HDTV, a Samsung DVD Player/Recorder, a personalized Xbox Live Halo 2 World Champion trophy featuring a 24k gold Halo 2 game disc AND $1,500 in cash. Damn, I wonder if Bungie employees are permitted to enter.... More information can be found at Xbox.com (we can't seem to find it at the moment but a link will be posted once we get one). Please note that we (Bungie Studios) have little to no involvement in the actual tournament so we are unable to provide support or answer tournament related questions. We'll do our best to keep you informed of late breaking events. For now, hurry up and get yourself registered or risk missing out on this epic event.

  • RunningRiot809 seems to have been reading the wrong site or something, "You cannot compete at home. Once again you have to compete from a gaming center!" is not true in the least, unless he is doing his own tourney...."The highest-ranked player (who is also tourney-registered and eligible) in the Rumble Pit will be declared the U.S. Halo 2 Tournament Champion" so theres no gaming center involved, at least in the opening rounds of the tourney. "The worldwide finals will be played in June, culminating in the naming of the first-ever Xbox Live Halo 2 World Champion. Never before have all 24 Xbox Live regions—including Japan, New Zealand, France, and Norway—participated in one global tournament event. The Xbox Live Halo 2 World Champion will be decided by a double-elimination ladder. The U.S. qualifying round will be played in the “Rumble Pit” match setting within Halo 2." if you read that properly, you would know that each regional champ will go on to compete for the world title, not that the USA winner is instantly world champ. It does suck to hear a bad review about that plasma tv though, maybe they can give a cash prize instead, and yes we know by now you kids want to play, maybe if enough of you do play, and the judges have to disqualify you they will see and possibly make a youth tourney? who knows....
