Does Bungie.next support HTML5?

I just curious, will the new website we keep hearing about supports the latest version of HTML 5? Also, I would like to ask the reason behind the using of HTML 5 if it not so discreet to share.

The reason it's slow is likely because of the forum software, database, bandwidth constraints, or their use of SSL all over the site.[/quote] I heard it runs off the back end of the Xbl servers devoted to tracking halo 4 and halo reach. It's not running in a dedicated environment.
