Support the Troops, not the War.

....can anybody bother explaining this to me? What I am fixing to say might be controversial. I do not support any type of war, thus how exactly can I support troops? In the military they break down your individuality and mold you to become one of them, ending your critical thinking and brainwashing you to whatever they need you to be, to fight in some pointless war that makes no sense. Why would I support the brainless indoctrination of thousands of people? I have respect for people in the military, I mean it's not easy choosing a career like that, and no doubt the conditions are tough and you could put your life at risk. I feel sad when I see soldiers funerals and stuff. I just simply...don't support what they do, at all. I do not support the war, and they are contributing to it, therefore I do not support them. Living in south texas this opinion is obviously very frowned upon. Just wondering if some of you see my point?

  • It means that you should respect the people who are fighting a war that they didn't start, and aren't there killing people out of choice (They signed up to protect their country) But Don't respect the politicians who start a war, for whatever reason, despite never having experienced that hell. If you have a leader that has been to war then the chances are he'll never go to war unnecessarily, because he wont put his troops through it for something petty like money, but when theres a real reason to go to war, when diplomacy and appeasement don't work these leaders, who were once soldiers know they have to do it (Which is why Winston Chuchill was against, Neville Chamberlane's Appeasment policy for hitler, if we took him out early, WWII would never have happened)
