Content, not judgement.
Ep 1. OK, this is interesting. These characters are real people. What is Sully looking at. ....uh-oh.
Ep 2.. Yeah, that is going to escalate. You guys better figure -blam!- out.
Ep 3. -blam!- just got real.
Ep 4. MOVE!
Watched it, it was actually pretty decent for an introductory episode.
Hell, I enjoyed it. It was good. I have a few nitpicks, though.
I was extremely sceptical about this at first, but the $10 million investment is not going to be taken for granted.

But seriously, that was far beyond my expectations. I thought it would be a Michael Bay esque all explosions no plotline serial. It could be better, of course, and this militaristic setting may not be the best way to introduce people to the science fiction of Halo, but it's actually quite compelling.
It's an accurate portrayal, though. It is really giving a dystopian feel. Good. That is the UNSC in a nutshell.
Indeed. I remember back in '09 when ODST was released there was a thread examining how many aspects of the game pointed to the UNSC being a fascist dictatorship. It's good to see these kinds of things actually taken into account and questioned by the characters.
BTW ajw, do you still have that page about ODST's writing and all the allusions it had?
I do, I can PM it to you tomorrow if you want (currently on iPod).
