After the first time it goes away. Though you still have to drop down at least once in order to activate the boss, but you can kill yourself immediately afterward or fight him down there until you die. Either way works. Really the only hard part is getting past Hero's Pass since most enemies are around low 30s/high 20s and will down most people until the level up a bit more after the game either by killing the Warrior a few more times of doing Vault hunter mode. Though from what I have seen the max level of the Warrior on normal mode is 34 which means his loot will shortly be useless. Then along with how he drops mainly crap unless you have a 3 or 4 party it is pretty pointless to farm him.
